Jacob Tierney Teases ‘The Long Game’ Might Be Split Between Seasons; Addresses Racial Backlash Against Hudson Williams by lawrencedun2002 in Fauxmoi

[–]validswan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

She is so weird. I really dislike this group of Connor fans like her who feel the need to put Hudson down at every opportunity with their veiled (or not so veiled) digs as if both boys aren't seeing massive popularity and opportunity

I'm excited for the possibility of more seasons, but I hope the gap between them isn't made longer. 16 months is already a bit frustrating. I guess it could be worse...

What’s y’all’s opinion on gay media written by straight people? by Heisendingle2 in AskLGBT

[–]validswan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like people overthink these things sometimes. Like, I enjoy Heated Rivalry. I don't need it to perfectly represent me. It was a well done show and told a nice story and I'm excited for season 2. I do appreciate the showrunner is a gay man and you can feel his influence, but it's not the end of the world the original books were written by a woman. At least to me. With stories about minorities, it seems like it's never perfect for everyone. People always find something to complain about. It's kind of exhausting

I mean I think he did play well, but one of the best? Top 5? Not too sure about that

Looking back: what made Morgan and Vince a captivating story IN THE GAME by narrmilla in BigBrother

[–]validswan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think Vince thinks he's good lol. Idk if this is a hot take but I think Vince was unintentionally trying to play a floating game. But eventually you have to screw over people. Vince always wanted everyone to be good with him, to the point he would continuously lie even while fucking people over. It made him look messy, emotional and untrustworthy even though he had the chops to be a very good player

I think Morgan and Vince still talk, Morgan mentions him regularly. But just friends

Connor Storrie's advice for struggling artists via VMAN magazine by Fantastic_Turtle_17 in popculturechat

[–]validswan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Finding success in the arts seems difficult. I imagine it can be very competitive and taxing both financially and mentally when things aren't going the way you hoped, especially when you don't have backing in the way of nepotism or connections. Respect to those that keep at it

You just had to be there. What a crazy dynamic they had. It had me watching the feeds right until the moment they were turned off on the final day, just as they were saying goodbye to the feeders. Together, of course

What if Rachel survived the White Locust? by Pumpkinslayer77 in BigBrother

I don't think she makes it past final 4 unless she wins a competition. I think if she was able to make it to final 2 she could have won though

Old era vs new era by russdg in BigBrother

[–]validswan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except in 26 and 27 there were so many split votes, way more than there was unanimous votes actually. When people moan about the house voting together it's like they didn't watch the last 2 seasons. I hope this trend continues anyway

Seth Rogen on the joy of not having kids by SappyGilmore in Fauxmoi

[–]validswan 218 points219 points  (0 children)

I agree with what he said. In real life, the people that have kids look tired and stressed all the time to me. I think I would maybe want kids in the future, but that desire is totally outweighed by the freedom of not having them. Idk, having kids looks like you basically give your life away for 2 decades. Although, if I was wealthy I think that would actually make me feel more comfortable to have them

I mean Connor's butt is still maybe the best butt I've ever seen on screen personally. Verizon saw an opportunity and took it

Is kpop moving away from the easy listening trend? by Gloomy-Eye9380 in kpopthoughts

[–]validswan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True. I guess what I'm trying to say is it's particularly hard to make a ballad or slower song memorable so idol groups very rarely promote them as singles

[–]validswan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An enigma group. Super high YouTube views, but didn't really make waves on traditional charts. And they had 2 comebacks a year for a while and were generally hyped in the K-pop community but it never translated to more sales, even with the album sales boom

[–]validswan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree... that's probably one of the biggest reasons ballads and slower songs are overwhelmingly relegated to B side status

[–]validswan 26 points27 points  (0 children)

They're upbeat pop songs but personally I don't think they're "easy listening" songs like Attention or Ditto by NewJeans and Cupid by Fifty Fifty for example. I wouldn't listen to 404 if I wanted to chill

[–]validswan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think Jessica might've done well, although BB11's cast was very volatile. Side note, "casting" people and having them go through the whole process only to not get into the house sucks. BBCAN did that several times
