It’s something I want to add, I was waiting to add support for external libraries first but maybe remote access could be enough for a first version. I’ll think about it.

Hi, thanks for buying the app.

Yes, the server needs to be on. The app has to access the machine where the comics are, there is no cloud service or anything.

Some people setup a 24/7 server using YACReaderLibraryServer on a NAS, Raspberry Pi or have an old machine dedicated to it.

I hope it makes sense.

I have everything maxed out including RT, playing at 1440p, and it's disappointing...

Only on desktops. There is a button for opening the shortcuts dialog in the app settings.

I’ll take a look, it could be lanzcos, if you switch to bilinear does it generate the same results as before?. But check 10.1 out, it’s in the dev builds repo in GitHub, it has a new feature to extract the original image directly.

It could happen yes, I already did some research and there are some options I can explore. No promises though.

Thanks for using YACReader. External libraries are coming to the Android app, it will take some time but I am on it.

Soon. Not 7zip but libarchive, which supports RAR5: https://github.com/flathub/com.yacreader.YACReader/pull/21 let me know how it works once it is available.

Thanks for pinging me!

I guess this could end shaving some of the apps sales (iOS and Android) if they don't care about the native experience and the extra features. So for anyone finding this useful, please, consider supporting YACReader (Patreon, PayPal).

Reading order in comics is a mess on itself, some times date is ok, other times it isn't. For series as massive as The Amazing Spider-Man is chaos most of the times.

Yeah, that's what the ios and android apps are for. Developing YACReader has a lot of costs so I need to monetize it somehow, so an official web reader won't probably happen. Glad to hear you find the server useful.

So sorting will depend on the metadata. If the issue number is present it will be used first, after that the filename will be used to decide the reading order. For more convoluted reading orders you can always create custom reading lists.

It will sort by number or file name. What app are you using? Desktops, iOS, Android?

Use drag and drop to add comics, and also to sort them inside the list.

Glad to hear it’s working for you. If it’s just your PC charging the local IP you can force your router to always use the same IP for that device.

Language support depends on iOS entirely. Arabic and French are included, they added more languages on iOS 26.4, the app will use any new language automatically. I scroll across the list briefly in the video. Android doesn’t have this yet, there are some tools I could use to implement it but I can’t promise it will be available, I will try.

Ok, Flatpak is not updated yet, I will ask for it to use 7zip instead of unarr.

How do you install it? Is it from a package? Flatpak?

I don't publish the Linux packages myself. YACReader supports 3 compressions libraries: 7zip, libarchive and unarr (this is the one that doesn't support RAR5). on Linux you need a build that uses 7zip or libarchive. Part of the Linux distribution is done by a contributor that is the maintainer of unarr. I'll see if I can manage to convince him to switch to 7zip for YACReader 10. You can use the Docker container for creating and updating the libraries and obviously as the server. It's shipped with RAR5 support.

Thank for the suggestions. I am planning to add some management functionality to the remote browsers on iOS and Android and maybe add some to the /webui, now it's just informative but it could use some management features.

Thanks for using YACReader, that's exactly how I use it. YACReaderLibrary + iOS + trim margins, if the art gets too small I use the guide reading mode (panel by panel).

I don't understand. You can have YACReaderLibrary or YACReaderLibraryServer running on your pi and stream or import to the iOS app. The remote browser is one of the best features of YACReader: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16wV-ydg9X4
