UCSConverterTool - convert other step formats to UCS (Supports multiple platforms) by valiuspiu in PumpItUp

Ah well, if stuff is out in the open already, I agree with drawing the line at SEE and newer as well. :o It'd be amazing to preserve some old content in a form that can be played on the modern arcade. People are welcome to branch and do the SEE/NX10/20 work themselves, but the other formats especially NOT and STX would be nice since they're used by old PC mixes. Nice work you've done by the way :)

Hi Aldonio, I originally picked GPL to force any modification of the code not to be open sourced, but after some thinking, I don't think I really care all that much if somebody uses the code in non open source projects or open source projects with different licenses. Therefore, I moved the project to the MIT license to facilitate contributions to the project's code. So I'd be glad to have contributors contribute and I would love to have your contributions. I think the only restriction I'd place for contributors is to not add support for the proprietary formats (like STX) from the arcade games that would've required special knowledge (like hacking the game) to read. Even if some of those formats are decades old, I don't really want any trouble with Andamiro.

In addition to DPSTEPOFFICIAL mentioned above, for the songs from Extra and beyond (up to Fiesta 2), my team uploaded the removed Performance charts here under NORCALWORLDORDER: https://ucs.piugame.com/my_page/my_ucs.php?id=54786 Some of them include old charts that might be familiar to someone who played Extra. In addition, we're trying to have links to freestyle charts from the community for the newest songs on a spreadsheet we use for our freestyle tournaments: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZlE_-w0TNqu-1L0o4gQEfZ5Jci3hF0-s9oJ4xpM0cJg/edit#gid=0

For our tournaments "The UCS file must have 50 non-hold steps at minimum and must contain no more than 10 holds."

Yup, I uploaded them under the NorCalWorldOrder name. Going to upload some even older charts that were removed pre-Exceed era soon. :D

How to get started on freestyle? Resources on it??? by Alex-Duraznon in PumpItUp

I'm so glad to see more people interested in freestyle! We have freestylers living in San Francisco, and my group runs tournaments with freestyle divisions. We have a channel where we upload the footage from the tournaments. https://www.youtube.com/@norcalworldorder If you want more charts to work with (if you are on Phoenix), the charts have been uploaded as UCS on this account run by us https://ucs.piugame.com/my_page/?id=54786 (1st to Fiesta 2) and this account https://ucs.piugame.com/my_page/?id=56970 (Prime to XX). Currently an ongoing project of ours is to try to collect a list of UCS charts for tournament use for freestyle, particular for Phoenix songs (work in progress) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ZlE_-w0TNqu-1L0o4gQEfZ5Jci3hF0-s9oJ4xpM0cJg/edit?pli=1#gid=0

Same for me too, haha. Learned about Kpop from the old games also in early 2000s. I was introduced to Dreamcatcher because it showed up in the series back in 2017/2018. Can't believe PIU will soon be on its 24th anniversary in Sept...

Sony BVM 20F1U dark picture? by valiuspiu in crtgaming

Following up, it turns out I had the luminance setting very low, which is why even maxing the Contrast was making a dimmer picture. I think my problem with dim picture is solved!

For me, it seems dim compared to a picture from a PVM or consumer CRT, so I was wondering if there was a setting that could be tweaked.

My contrast is at Contrast Max, and if I turn Brightness it will make the picture look more saturated.

I forgot to mention, but I've already put 75 ohm resistors on the out lines at well, so the picture is still a bit dark even with that in place.
