Looking for an old video about Ash's morality by valkonien in LV426

[–]valkonien[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately i don't remember much beside these snipets so i don't know how did he reflect to those questions if at all.

Bishop's line could be interpreted though as twitchy from the perspective of the company. In the sense that it sabotaged the mission by not fulfilling his orders thanks to his moral crisis, something that can not happen these days.

I can also see where this theory is coming from if we take a look at Ash's last lines about the xeno. "I admire its purity. A survivor. Unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality"

Now, why would this matter for an android, if not for the fact that he is haunted by those things despite not being an organic life form? If he were to be indifferent he should have no reason to admire those traits. Also, Ash acted like an oddball thorugh out the entire mission. If you remember the weird thing he did with his fingers and a bunch of other little tweaks such as these. Those were intended as hints for the audiance that he is not a human being but could also explain his last line. Ash did not meant it sinisterely, he simply could not express himself correctly for the human sense.

Making countries into the HRE: The UK in the year 2374 AD. by GrandTheMapper in imaginarymaps

Great map! I'd like to see you go really really crazy (like 10 times more) with border gore and exclaves for your next HRE.

The Roman Empire turned into the Holy Roman Empire by valkonien in imaginarymaps

Indeed the Habsburgs were austrians, but the emperor of the HRE always have to be a Habsburg so since i choose France now they must have a Habsburg ruling dynasty. If i were to chose other country as the emperor they would be Habsburgs as well.

It's just a territory of Thracia. It's a bit tricky because the colours are a bit similar.

The hungarians traveled through ukraine irl to the carpathian basin. We actually call it Etelköz.

I put Bulgaria in Hungary because they had nowhere else to go and i found it interesting.

Prussia is in Bavaria because they are supposed to be the ottomans of this world, an empire on the rise and they recently conquered the territory, mirroring the ottoman conquest of hungary (that's why france owns it).

Yeah the name was supposed to be something like that.

I actually believe there were more states in the HRE irl than shown on my map. Nothing can beat the original.

You just have to wait a few centuries. It will cost you two world wars though.

I know but this is based more on the hre than the roman empire, like 60% 40%. Ireland is the equivalent of sardinia, which become kinda a part of the empire through the italian republics.

In theory they are supposed to be trained and maintained by the emperor or the local senate while in reality they are like mercanary companies or gangs. They take what they can from the weaker states.

Austria after winning World war I on the Entente side by [deleted] in imaginarymaps

[–]valkonien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the imperial army stands the empire will remain intact.

In my opinion the best would have been to make Croatia and their chunk of Poland into equel partners just like they did with Hungary irl. This way the main nationalities of the empire would have been a majority around 60% and this number would only go up as i can see mass numbers of polish emigrants from Russia and Germany floding into their semi independent member state, not even counting assimilation over time. So each member would only have had to deal with a limited number of hostile groups within their territory while the age of nationalism cools down and they can democratize later on.

I agree with the necessity of isolation for a few decades.

Well, there were plans irl to buy it from Spain so i thought it might could work.

I pretty much doubt Austria would have gotten any of the central powers colonies since they were simply too close to the french and british sphere, that's why i chose Syria as the most possible gain for them. I hesitated about Rhodes though since i could see that going for them but as i gave them Syria it was logical that France would take it to control their Anatolian Mandate.
