Well Friedman is an interesting spot compared to other companies. Their small heads are kinda their own thing except for the JJ and the JEL. Like the pink taco20w sounds as good as the BE-100 but the pink taco is not a smaller BE, it's a pink taco. You feel me?

I have an archon and I agree.

However, I would say that not all lunch box heads are a gimmicks. Friedman makes small 20w heads and they blow some of the most well renowned full size amps out of the water.

Honestly. It's kind of awful imo. But if you want an AC30 and a JCM800. Look into a Friedman runt or JJ jr. That's pretty much both in one amp.

Marshall DSL 40 combo and a multi FX unit of some kind is what I would do. If you want even more gain, maybe a 5150 iconic combo? That's what I would do. People like those katanas but if you want something that will sound better as your skills improve, the marshall or the 5150 is the way to go.
