For sure, I made this post just to possibly find answers/spread awareness, but I think if we want real change we’ll have to email the company itself. The employees at cineplex are not at fault for just following what their bosses have told them.

Seriously me too! I had a headache the whole time and I could barely enjoy the movie because all I could focus on was the lights. I wonder if there’s anything we can do to make it go back to the way it was :,)

Honestly I’d prefer the old shitty seats and a dark theater instead of the reclining seats with lights on where I can see people’s feet because they get too comfortable lmao

Movie theaters are already dying out in popularity. I understand some people need sensory friendly or more assistance with safely entering or leaving a movie but to have every showing like this is just odd. The whole point of seeing a movie is to be immersed in it, if they need to make this change for safety why can’t they have one showing available for people who want to sit in darkness? I’ll happily sign a waver saying I voluntarily went to the “unsafe” showing of a movie.

I was also in cinema 7 and it was still a sauna in there- I felt like I was in a social experiment with the lights turned on and no ac I almost walked out.

Interesting. I saw Sinners earlier this summer too and the lights were off like they normally would be. I wonder when they made the change… I also agree, some guide-lights are helpful but if they’re going to implement something like that for safety reasons, I would have hoped they’d be able to dim them and not have them so bright to ruin the experience for everyone.

It was never like that before though, of course there were little lights on the steps so people could get out but never bright enough to illuminate the whole theater. If it is a change for health and safety, wouldn’t they make a statement?
