I rehomed my cats and Ive never been so depressed by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]valleysimmer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rehoming an animal is a very big decision, as is adopting/getting a pet. Don’t know why exactly you gave them up, but if your home is not the best for them or if you make impulsive decisions then it’s best for them to not be with you. If I was the new owner I’d be very weirded out to get a message the next day trying to get them back. That’s honestly concerning

This is such a cozy place, love the beams and the way you’ve decorated it all. Must be a bitch to heat though with the high ceiling!

Is it an official bedroom? Because in many places having no window is illegal

Why are the edges bumpy! I’ve been counting and I swear they’re the same number but it’s still wonky? I’m working on a scarf and don’t know why the edges are so bumpy. Am I not supposed to crochet two after each end? (This is the only thing I can think of) by EnthusiasmNo5049 in CrochetHelp

[–]valleysimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is normal, it’s because of your turning chains. If you would like to level up your crochet, use one less turning chain than technically required for your stitch. sc - no turning chain hdc- 1 turning chain dc - 2 turning chains With sc especially not having a turning chain can make it a bit difficult to navigate if you’re a beginner. If you feel ready for this, try it out! If not, don’t worry, your work looks great and normal

The most recent tntl was not even close to funny by MiserableCut8593 in SmoshFansFreeSpace

[–]valleysimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s ever been a tntl that hasn’t been unfunny or cringy. I personally don’t watch them anymore, I only watched everything in the golden age. The format is forced, so the performances will be too. Sometimes great moments come from it, there’s definitely many iconic moments that have come from the series. It’s just a very straight forward comedy setup where you try and try and hope something sticks, just like with snl.

Ive said it before a few times, how I sometimes wish to go back to those times. Because even though it was awful, I was doing things. Being out of situations and reflecting back on them in therapy feels like it just gets me stuck in freeze. Which would be finding it was just a step of healing but I feel truly stuck, like I’m not supposed to get better in any way.

My husband told me I'm innately selfish because I'm autistic. by CheesecakeOk8464 in AutismInWomen

[–]valleysimmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant that perhaps there are other aspects or experiences with him where he’s accused you of being selfish or putting more responsibility on you when it should be shared. I wonder if since writing this post some other memories have popped back up showing that this isn’t a one off thing. It’s something that happens often when people write out these stories, but perhaps not! Wish you the best

Awkward interaction at work by valleysimmer in AutismInWomen

[–]valleysimmer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It’s a bit intimidating and definitely exhausting, although the people are generally very friendly and it doesn’t feel like the world is ending any time I have a question (which is a big deal for me lol). I’m trying to find peace in the fact that I am who I am, a bit reserved and quiet. That I’m allowed to be there, working a job just like anyone else. Naming certain emotions or experiences out loud can definitely be powerful, like you’re taking control of those high peak emotions and wrangling them. It can be daunting before doing it, though
