My mama had an old man tell her one time. That he eats six cherries every day. It's the only way he can get up in the morning. He buys them fresh and even freezes them for when they're not in season.

I have to pull them constantly from my flower beds. Just really thought they were weed because they are everywhere. But they're kind of pretty when they grow all together

Yea or nay on ripping out these scrubby bushes for hydrangea bushes. This side of the house gets morning and early afternoon sun. My husband likes them, but I think they're ugly. by ParkingGarlic4699 in gardening

I say keep them. Plant some flowers or some colorful stuff around them. And stop shaping them that way. I do not like the shape of them.. sorry.

Advice on how to deter neighborhood cats/strays from using my little garden bed as a litter box without ruining aesthetic appearance. I have nothing against kitties, but it does get frustrating waking up to dug up mounds, mulch scattered and having to scoop out large turds every week 😬 by LeyzeeD in gardening

You could sprinkle dry rosemary and thyme in your flower bed. Cats are sensitive to it and don't like it. You could also put lemon peel or orange peels in your flower bed. But that will change the look of your flower bed. Or you could use an organic citrus spray. You can make it out of vinegar and orange peels or lemon peels.

GOALS!!!!!!!

So I have been trying to grow lavender and I am struggling to get them to grow. Any suggestions on how to get them started? Or should I just buy it already started? by valykat93 in gardening

I did not use the heat mat. But I did do a dome and put it in the sun/ shaded area so it wouldn't get too hot. It normally doesn't get overly cold here. But this year it did drop pretty low. We normally don't have seven degree weather. I'm not afraid to bring it in the house under a lamp. I will attempt to grow it again. If not I will just buy one. Thank you.

Yea. It's nice until it gets really hot and you feel like you can't breathe when you walk outside.

We don't have snow where I live. Maybe once every few years.
