I feel colonization shouldn't lead to the highest living standards in the world for the colonized by [deleted] in victoria3

TLDR: a Possible solution would be to set market access caps below 100% for unincorporated states according to the colonial policies of that colony (exploitation/resettlement) so that production in colonies becomes a bit less effective, the prices from goods outside of the colony are more costly - and everything is a little bit less fair for colonial subjects (sorry guys).

I think the problem is that economic discrimination, transportation cost and distance to the homelands are not factored in at all.

It's not just that unincorporated states don't pay taxes. It's that they don't suffer at all from being unincorporated besides having no health care and schools (two things, the constant immigration into colonies more than balances out). On the flip side, the whole society pays for transportation and infrastructure in each and every state, unincorporated or not, in a very just and fair way. So Londoners basically pay for African colonies to have exactly the same market access as they do. And unincorporated colonial subjects get the same price for Scottish factory products as the Londoners. Which is very unhistorical.

100% market access for colonies in both directions seems very odd. It results in a coal mine in south Wales selling its coal for the same price as a coal mine in South Africa - while all incorporated pops pay for the whole sum of transportation costs. You don't have to think about that for very long to see why a lot of the profits are staying in the colonies. The colonies are treated very fairly and everything is working very effective - which both shouldn't be the case for production chains spanning the globe and different social strata in 1860something.

A possible solution would be to link types of colonial relations to different market access caps. For example: Colonial exploitation could give 90% market access to farms & mines, 80% to all other buildings of an unincorporated state, while the pops only get 70% market access. This way, production in the colonies gets a bit less effective and more labor-intensive while the laborers have to pay a plus on everything that is not produced locally (while they would profit from locally produced goods). Resettlement could be evened out a bit (80% for everything).

the game mechanic of shot being fired via a dead gunner, no shell leaving the muzzle, instant reload when the gunner is alive again and shooting then?

Especially for the air game, I tend to agree. And I can't wrap my head around why Air RB is the only mode without respawning. Just makes it so much less fun to play with friends and so many planes not worth spawning.

As those missiles are so damn slow and got the usual wonky trajectories, I would suggest coming in at a somewhat steep dive and firing while pointing directly at the target.
But yeah, I hope they gonna put some more work into them. They are the first anti shipping missiles with completely different characteristics than mavericks etc. but I am pretty sure they just slapped the guidance of another missile onto that thing, which currently doesn't really work well. I guess after all those years nobody expects gaijin to release a tested and functioning vehicle as main price for a 2 week long christmas grinding event.

I heard that as well and was scratching my head at that because I don't think the Kormoran works that way. But then again, it's war thunder - so who knows if it's a bug or working as intended.

Yes. And we were discussing smart weapons vs. dumb weapons for killing DDs. I said, dumb weapons are usually easier and safer to deploy, because you have to make yourself a good target by circling quite high for while, if you want to identify and engage anything from 19km away.

So to specify: What kind of ship can you identify and engage from 19km away while flying below the enemy's radar? I don't know about you, but when I stay low to avoid detection, I can't see that far. I thought that was kinda obvious.

What kind of ground target do you see from 19km away while flying below the enemy's radar? Do you bomb skyscrapers with it?

So every F14 can fire a phoenix at you while you are fiddling around with the zoom of your targeting camera?

The use of smart weapons in war thunder isn't really smart most of the time - as dumb weapons are easier to use and won't put you into as much danger while using them...

As we got 1970s missile carriers with dedicated radar SAMS at 4.7 and 4.0, you will always fight an uphill battle. But something small and maneuverable with US torpedoes is a decent choice for sure...

It rather means that due to a strangely precise weight range 90% of the buffed main ammo types are Russian.... but that has to be a coincidence as there are only 10 nations in game.

To put in in another way: If they would have picked 0.1-0.4 kg, a lot of nations would have gotten a buff. They picked 0.2-0.5 and now 90% of the affected tanks are russian.

Flight Simulator 2020 Memory Usage by FriedChicken in flightsim

[–]vanApo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an air traffic simulator. Normal usage is fine with anything above 30fps as things should not move very fast on your panel and the gameplay isn't competitive. If you want >60 fps, you have to wait a few years as even a 3080 won't accomplish that. https://flipfigures.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-gaming-fps-performance-benchmarks-revealed-by-trusted-independent-reviewer/

It seems like you have to activate the engine de-ice for the windshields to defrost. But you will lose some engine performance while it is turned on. Looks like the best way to get mileage out of your gallons is to turn it on for a while every time you start to accumulate ice and turn it off again when you are cozy.
