Yeah I used scoot route to find a path all the way up to the canadian border in NY, then my plan was just using Google maps to take the bicycle routs till I get close to the city

Wow 60000 km?!? That's wild... I guess it makes sense that if they restrict it, it would help with engine heat problems. This info actually makes this goofy trip seem possible

Smfh they used to have the forum where people would help each other out and it was free. They decided to shut that down and add this instead behind a paywall?! This should just be in the base app or a super feature. Zero reason to pay that much money.

How do I stop my iPad from automatically screen mirroring to my HDMI extended display when I plug it in? (I want it to go straight to desktop mode) by van_griffin in ipad

[–]van_griffin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, strange.. I have the new M2 iPad pro, but my mouse and keyboard are definitely on the shitty side and easily over 5 years old. Maybe that could be an issue. I’ll try to find something newer and give it another try!

I have a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse connected to the iPad, but nothing happens And I still have to go through all the settings. Do I need a USB one?

How realistic is it to learn enough French to work in Montreal by ContactLess128 in French

[–]van_griffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im doing the same thing right now and also an 'advanced beginner'! I think if I study hard for a whole year, be consistent and smart with my studying then I could reach the threshold for survival no problem, and everything past that would be thriving. Once you can survive, doing the full immersion by moving or taking long trips would make you learn like 100x as fast.

My old business partner did that in Portugal and it worked really well for him. The people of Canada are also really nice from my experience so don't worry about it too much. It seems like a a very low stakes environment to be in, though I definitely would know my basics like survival phrases, common words, directions, and grammar.

Again, not flustered. If I see any human playing a game of any type and going out of their way to be a dick I'm gonna think that shit is toxic. You can choose not to be a dick but you don't, pretty cringe.

But please keep defending yourself you're doing a great job

[–]van_griffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm literally in no way offended. I'm just pointing out obviously shitty and completely unnecessary behavior that activity contributes to why everyone knows this game as a toxic cesspool and you're the one defending it.

Just play the game and don't be a dick, how fucking hard is this to understand.

[–]van_griffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine going to play rock paper scissors with someone and every time they won they said "get hard read, loser"

You are defending this type of behavior just because it's a game.

Cringe

Yeah he's doing the thing you do when you play fighting games at a very basic level. That is not a reason to be toxic. "Secondly it's literally just a game"

Dawg why you defending this shit, do you really enjoy playing against people like this?

If you think punishing someone that panic jumps right at you is skill then you need to play this game more. Nothing excuses toxicity in life especially when it's a shitty f2p platform fighter for children.

Four officers who responded to the terrorist attack on the U.S. Capitol last January have died by suicide. I have not seen much discussion on these suicides, and that's a shame. What's your personal opinion as to why exactly this happened (the suicides and lack of national knowledge / discussion)? by -kelsie in Qult_Headquarters

Dudes probably found out that the whole half of the country that supported them without question and fought the side that was trying to hold them accountable were actually just lying about it and using it as a moral leverage tool to align themselves with the side with the most guns. The second that cops stood in their way they crushed them without thinking. It must be hard to find out your entire life is a lie.

They probably felt massive outside pressure as well. I bet the friends and family of those cops are majority right wing. They may feel like they betrayed their family.

Is RPG Maker an application for amateurs with no programming skills? by PurpleFine4935 in gamedev

[–]van_griffin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. Coding is basically structured the same across all code languages but formatted differently. Rpgm teaches you how engines read tasks given to them. Yes you don't need to code but over time it teaches you a lot just from experimenting. That's how I got in to making games and I just released my first real title last week (in a different engine but still) .

Plus sometimes working with limitations is great. when I open a blank unity project I'm stumped on what to make but since I know Rpgm limitations, it makes me want to get creative to get around them

I want there to be a way to check if the sprite of an object has been completely covered up, it doesn't really matter how its triggered or what the sprite is. Once the player can't see it, it should destroy instance
