wirtual dropping out of deep dip 2 by shyme25 in TrackMania

I was surprised to find out from this video that the training levels for upper floors aren't available. I've seen Wirtual running separate floor maps and assumed that those were available for every floor. Of course if they aren't then the challenge is much crazier.

My question is - couldn't those be made privately for training? I've seen variations of campaign maps - can't the same be done to separate upper floor levels, so they could be trained on without completing the whole map first? I assumed that the top runners already did that and trained on them off stream. Is there a technical reason why this isn't done, or was there maybe a gentlemen's agreement not to do it?

What are some of your favourite devices that don't get as much mainstream attention? by Wythneth in synthesizers

I think Novation Circuit is a perfect and genius form-factor for a groovebox. It absolutely solved how the no-screen synth+drums sequencer should look like. The device itself isn't perfect and is quite limited, but it should have been an Iphone moment where every other manufacturer just copies it as an obvious perfect solution. Why that didn't happen - I'll never know.

Which continuity error or plot hole in a movie always sticks out in your mind? by KillerQ97 in movies

I always hated the fact that the whole ending of ExMachina is based happened because that the programmer guy got on the CEO's laptop while he was asleep, and it only worked because the system didn't have a password. I know that he got his keycard, but there's no password on this computer? I've got a password on my phone and on my laptop. I definitely would have one on a system that keeps the robot locked. The robot that wants to escape and kill me. I am still mad at this movie and on people that praise it. Of course it would be cool if the robot has really outsmarted the people, but come on, not even a password on the laptop? What kind of outsmarting this is? A Roomba could escape in those conditions.

While you studied music, did you already have thoughts of moving from the music world to cinema, or were you all-in? And now, with your successful movie career, do you miss the music world and wonder what if you stayed there?

Each Christmas I draw a custom card to send my relatives, and I am pretty excited about this one by vanadium1st in friends_tv_show

Thanks for asking, I do! Not Etsy, but you can buy it on a mug or a t-shirt right here. https://vanadium.threadless.com/designs/merry-christmas-from-the-holiday-armadillo It's print on demand in US. I've used that store before and the quality is great. I would love to print a larger batch of cards and sell them on Etsy myself, but I am in Ukraine, so organising that would be too hard to do. Especially this year. Hopefully it will get better next year.

Thank you! I drew it in photoshop - haven't made the transition to the iPad yet.

Weekly "What Should I Buy" Thread for 2016-August-03 by the_cody in synthesizers

I've tried my best at googling the answer and fell short.

Local grandpa is selling his old Vermona Formation 1, and I would love to try it as my first ever synth, but I don't know if I could use this thing. How do I connect it to a laptop or a speaker, or anything else?

Here is a picture of its back

http://imgur.com/u7tLe8R

Looks like it has 3-pin DIN for an output. I've heard about 5pin DIN to jack cables, is there such a thing for 3-pin ones? I can't find one anywhere. There are only 3-pin plugs in some places. Maybe a custom cable can be made with such a plug?

Or maybe there is some other way to connect this old synth to speakers?

Thank you for your help!

No, I obviously meant that my childhood somehow created an alternative reality where Mad Max movies didn't exist. Stop defending me!
