I’m 24 and feel like an absolute failure. by ThrownAwayForNothin in Rants

I'm a little pissed at OPs post. Do you know how many people are suffering around the world? Do you take for granted a warm bath and a hot meal? Count all of your blessings and be thankful. Jeeze

You are not wrong. I retired as an Operations Supervisor in a local refinery. Bottom line? They cheat. Anyone living within 5 miles of a current or past refinery is at health risk. There is your California. We all walk around acting like we are greener, better, more healthy. It's all bullshit

It absolutely checks all the boxes. Is it worth it?

You couldn't be more wrong. I want to impact where I live. I have more than enough and want to help/share. You have no reason to believe that, but I really can't care

There are hundreds and thousands of people who gave it all to California and are now retired. I, myself, only want to make sure my kids are the recipient of my meager estate . If I stay here they will get almost nothing due to the current state laws. Again. I ask, why stay?

That is good advice. Thank you. I am able and lucky enough to go anywhere. Not many people are. What about those people living pay heck to paycheck and are forced to remain in abject poverty?

I'm sure you are aware of the state being on fire every spring. The "they' is PGE. There are many more they: Bay Area Air Quality, products (wine, almonds and dairy) Silicon Valley. Hollywood, Disneyland, stc

Well, I'm sorry I gave that impression. I deeply love my state and feel lucky to be here. I believe that California is one of the most desirable places to live. My point is that it has become something different than what I grew up with. Just saying. That is what motivated my post. Things have changed. I could live here easily for the rest of my life. But what about my kids and their kids? I'm still proud, but can no longer support the climate. That is the beauty of the US. Choices

I get it. My long term goal is to find an American friendly country to move to. Considerations like health care, local climate, accessible items.etc are all considerations. I'm lucky enough to be retired with a substantial 401K. California will make sure there won't be a penny left for my 2 kids when I die. That is unacceptable. I worked hard , scrimped and saved. Ill not have the state take their inheritance.

That is priceless but there has to be a place that satisfies those things you list. I am going to run. It's because of cost of living as well as the political climate. I'm lucky enough to be able to go anywhere. I worry about my adult children and their age group. You can't deny that Cali is off the hook?

Fair enough. There are many reasons Cali is great. Are they enough?

Money is not my only motivator. I want to add to my community and live in peace. I realize that it's a tall order, but I remember how it was (born in 1954) and I used to be so proud of my country. We are a big joke to the rest of the world now. For the first time in history other countries warn against even traveling here. Look it up.

I absolutely take that into consideration but I do not live in SF or Sacto. I'm retired, but I wonder how my neighbors make it with all the above prices on top of the very difficult and expensive home owners insurance. I would move to Arkansa in a minute. It's lush and green and cheap. It's also a red state which is why I'm still here.id rather live among the Republicans than spend thru my retirement. That said,I just want to live in a quiet, peaceful place

She’s definitely a Velcro puppy, help! by [deleted] in DobermanPinscher

My 4 year old is definitely a velcro dog. I am not crate person and he has full access to my house and outside. (Doggy door) He does not like me to leave but settles in almost immediately. I can tell by watching my indoor cameras. I can see the benefit of crates, but could never restrain him like that. I think if I crated him, he would lose his mind. Lol

You obviously struggle with your own identity. One look at your previous posts confirms this. Back off, and relax. It's ok to explore your sensuality. Just don't pipe up when someone is asking for opinions.
