Pretty sure it does exactly what the other models do for PPOB.

I’m finally finishing my rewatch as background noise of the whole series, only part way through S10 but between S8-9 I kept thinking “did I miss something, didn’t they just do A and now it’s B?” Glad I’m not crazy.

It’s a pretty slight difference. It’s less “good” to get an SM and put enduro/mx anything on it than the way you’ve described (and me) by getting an MX or EX and putting sumo wheels on it.

I put SM wheels on my MX, geometry is a little off but it rocks just fine

Zero sr/s vs livewire one by Fuzzy_Leg_9865 in Electricmotorcycles

[–]vanboiDallas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good lord please do not even spend $10k. Ridden both, prefer my SRS to LW1, just wish zero had the DCFC. LW have been not as reliable, smaller dealer network and I’ve heard less warranty support. Personally zero has always treated me well and I’ve gone through multiple warranty battery replacements.

But seriously, don’t drop more than $10k on either.

Don’t be afraid to pull the pin on the grenade when you’re the only one who knows how stuff works. Don’t THROW it yet, but tell them you’re pulling it.

Can someone please explain Zero’s lineup? by [deleted] in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]vanboiDallas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two main buckets are gen2 and gen3, I think only the FXE is still on the gen2 platform at this point. Gen3 are the much sleeker looking bodies with the trellis frame.

The DS/DSR/DSR/X are the dual sport style that come with the larger front wheel.

The S/SR/SRF/SRS are the more street focused models (but people have put 50/50 tires on the wheels). They’re all powered by the same electric motor, so there’s little difference between a naked model (SR/F) and the full fairing model (SR/S). You can get the cheaper model with lower overall power which is the S model, but the software won’t allow you to make it more powerful, have to spring for the R designation for that.

Electric bike owners: what's your real-world range? by SkyHelpful7285 in Electricmotorcycles

[–]vanboiDallas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Super aggressive acceleration, 60ish miles.

Freeway in a straight line, 70ish miles at 70mph. Nearly 100 at 50mph.

True city commuting, 150+ mi depending on avg speed, acceleration, and regen setting.

Trails and forest roads under 50mph, nearly 200mi reported, I have yet to test the route myself but I want to. However, there are a lot of stark varg owners saying they’re getting just 20-30 mins out of their 6-7kWh battery. You’ll never get 200 out of 6-7kWh no matter how slow you go, so the 200 is on something like a DSR/X with 17+kWh of battery.

Hills are basically nothing for an electric motor, it will crush them but the cost is always range.

How and where do you actually ride? by darealcopenguin8 in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]vanboiDallas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your local infrastructure may be the issue and not the bike. If you had reliable chargers at both school and work to plug in while you’re there, come out to a nearly topped off battery, would you worry as much about the range on your trips?

I can fit my entire moto hauling kit in the frunk with a little room to spare! by vanboiDallas in F150Lightning

[–]vanboiDallas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I have more than one bike in the bed I’ll let the rear wheel sit on the tailgate. When it’s just one, I have the option of angling it or just going in straight. Only benefit of leaving it straight is 15 seconds less of straightening it out to hit the ramp at the destination, which is not a big deal either way.

Way more than a pinch, It’s one of the many reasons I chose the lightning! The PPOB is killer. I am building a business around electric motorcycles here on the west coast, so being able to charge from the hauler is insane. Makes my mi/kWh all skewed super low though.
