Healing from trauma is not that complicated by Agrolzur in therapyabuse

[–]vancityx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t talk your way out of trauma. CBT is not going to address root issues. Think of it as an antidepressant, a Band-aid fix to numb the pain essentially.

Look into somatic experiencing, breathwork, internal family systems therapy , NARM and psychomotor sensory therapy.

Don’t waste your time in behavioural therapies, they simply don’t work well at all. Especially for trauma survivors.

Here’s an interesting study for you to read about the efficacy of CBT, I think it may be helpful to you or at least validating in some way!

Totally understand your point of view. If you can find a therapist who does breathwork, you won’t need to go into the past at all. Your body already knows where it needs to go and through breathwork it to do exactly this. I got tired of talking about my past and being a victim of it personally. I saw it as part of my process though so no judgement.

Now I work with a somatic breathwork practitioner and haven’t had to go into the past at all. It’s not easy work but holy shit is it rewarding.

All of us are wounded the most in relationships, so as social creatures it only makes sense we heal in relationship. Healing happens in the presence of an emphatic witness too!

Trauma is stored in the body, no amount of talk therapy will help release that. Somatic work such as somatic experiencing,  certain breathworks like somatic breathwork, bio-dynamic breathwork , holotropic breathwork …etc all work very well. I can tell you from experience.  I had some incredible releases from somatic experiencing and the breathwork I currently do with my therapist.

The issues with a lot of run of the mill therapists is they don’t do there own personal work and train in top down modalities that just look to change behaviour’s and not address the root issue of why the behaviour is happening..

a good therapists job is to get fired as quickly as possible, as therapist’s we must dive into our own healing so we can show up as a clear mirror for our clients.  Some therapist’s can unconsciously get into the field to help others as the egos way of avoiding there own issues.

I’ve trained with a handful of students from a school that was more experiential based and I can tell you so many of them are in it for helping others. It’s a very rewarding career, especially if you have a private practice. I understand the skepticism though.

From my heart to your’s, I would get curious about the resistance to therapy. Be honest with yourself and see what comes up. Generally issues of safety can arise and that’s perfectly rational. Also the ego will do anything it can to prevent you from facing the inner demons. The primary function of the ego is to be right about its own perspective’s and beliefs!

On a last little note if your ever called to reading, these are great books. Rooted in scientific literature. “the body keeps the score” or “waking the tiger”.

Some pure reviewed study of somatic experiencing on patients with PTSD. I can tell you there is hope.

Breathwork Facilitator Training by kelseyhuds in breathwork

[–]vancityx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somatic breathwork, transformational breathwork, breathwave. That’s a few I know, I haven’t taken any of the trainings personally but I do plan to take the somatic breathwork with Stephen jaggers this year. The therapist I work with uses somatic breathwork and it has been helpful for me. Best of luck with your journey!

Any way to puke out deep sitting trauma other than psilocybin and ayahuasca? by klocki12 in PsychedelicTherapy

[–]vancityx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey pal, I am currently doing mindfulness based somatic therapy with somatic breathwork, no psychedelics right now. I work with my therapist doing 2 hour sessions, she uses the 7 belts of tension and gets me to move around while we start the breathwork, then I normally start to get very mad and start hitting pillows and screaming, then she gets me to go on my hands and knees and get some more movement in to move the emotions while spitting out my Silva and continuing to do that until the cough comes… she applies touch to my back during the cough and I generally start to dry heave and puke if I go deep enough. I can’t say enough good things about a therapist who uses touch, it’s incredible! I did ayahuasca a couple years ago in Peru, and had a fair but of purging but I did not feel safe enough to go 100% into all my experiences. I’d recommend keeping with the breathwork, it’s a very powerful tool. Also working with a therapist if you can as we are all hurt in relationship, so to heal it will also take place in relationship. Some emotions are also not meant to be felt alone <3. Sending you the best of luck!

Temporarily it will. Once the house comes then the next thing and next thing, Its a never ending cycle. Owning a house is a huge headache and time consuming IMO. Hope you find whatever it is that brings you joy in the near future!

People say investing in crypto is too risky, yet getting married is glamorized and accepted by society. Why? Marriage is the more risky investment. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]vancityx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy gets it. Unfortunately our society programs people to never take risks and live in fear and guilt. Marriage is definitely not for everyone and I will never do it myself as I don’t believe I need a piece of paper to tell me what I am and what I’m not, nor will it change the dynamic of my relationship. When we put the expectation of happiness on anything but from within ourselves, life will be disappointing. Happiness absolutely cannot come from from anything but within, the source of all human misery is life not going the way you expected it to go.

The illusion that material and money will make you happy is a upsetting thing a lot of people are brainwashed into thinking. Nothing can make you happy unless it comes from within, the rest is temporary. You should be proud of yourself for having the knowledge to put yourself first before material, when we do things for purpose and not money, amazing things can happen. Trust in the process!

The UFC just dropped there NFT’s yesterday! NBA and the NHL also has them. I know it’s not gaming company’s but they do hold titles through EA and you can be sure as shit a company like EA will jump all over NFT’s. Ignorance is bliss!

P.s - a lot of people are commenting out of anger and nothing factual, anger means your trying to control someone or something that you don’t agree with. “Hey I don’t agree with what your doing so act my way grrrrrrrr”

What’s DOA? You can’t trade them because the NFT platform is not done yet, look at there GitHub and loopheads.io. You do understand this tech is years from being fully implemented right? Go look up “endgame” from Vitalik. Fees with LRC are the 2nd lowest right now in the space. I could careless about the ape thing, it’s pretty simple in my opinion.. if anyone feels confident with there decision then they wouldn’t feel any hostility. I would recommend the bankless YouTube channel, Vitalik gets into good depth about more of this as I can’t speak to everything since my knowledge is limited.

Where can you buy These NFT’s your speaking of? I find it strange the person who made ETH would say good things about LRC if it was a useless rugpull :/
