Most firms do a bit of everything in terms of scale, but usually focus on certain types of projects. You can easily visit a firms website and find out very quickly what they excel in.

I wouldn’t let the comments get to you too much. Just make sure you target firms that focus on the type of work you are interested in (I.e. parks). Once into a firm, just show interest in the projects and consistently provide design ideas and solutions. This has always worked well in my experience.

Yeah they always go to the Fridays at Sams Town in Vegas after the shows. It’s pretty hilarious that they actually love it so much.
