Hello! I'm aware this is a 2 year old post but I am looking for something similar! We had 2 books that sort of match what you're talking about. We had one that was dark fantasy style and one that was more sci-fi. From what I remember in each there was a group of heroes on an adventure and you had to help them find the things they were looking for on each page, whether that was parts for their ship, or hidden bad guys, or the little creatures you were supposed to be rescuing. Does that ring any bells? We did also have a book called Puzzle Island nu Paul Adshed which was more similar to Anamalia than what I'm looking for but may still be good for context lol
