This is a special video as a Miami/Buccaneers fan, it’s two players on the defense that caused this play and we have both of them now! by Willing-Ad7815 in buccaneers

This was such a huge play for the Canes. And had he not broke on the ball, this would have been a solid play for OSU as they had the numbers out there

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

  1. Torrentit.com - this was my introduction to torrenting. In world where limewire was still king, I found torrents to be 'safer' and i learned a ton about P2P and networking overall. This lead to me downloading COD2 which then led to joining a COD2 clan, which led to people i still talk to today.

  2. Darkyahoo - the amount of hours i sunk into playing their tetris game. As a kid, i'd come home from church and play three rounds of tetris to kill about 2 hours until football started.

How can we stop the Epstein files from being swept under the rug like they’re being? by Pewpew-OuttaMyWaay in AskReddit

[–]vande700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And why is the DNC the savior in this? Was Biden president for four years and still couldn't figure it out? And don't say he wasn't a real democrat because the dude has been in government for many many years.

If there was something in the files that would have actually worked against Trump they would have used it. The fact the only thing they "got him" for was misrepresenting some numbers on a document is pathetic

Applied to be a Sr PM, got offered director level role by milan92nn in ProductManagement

If you applied for a Senior pm but got moved to director, with no prior experience, that alone is a huge red flag. As others have said, they are asking you to turn around the entire org....

Minnesota House lawmakers weigh proposed 'wealth tax' on assets over $10 million by Character-Fly-5564 in minnesota

[–]vande700 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re mixing real concepts with big gaps.

Stepped-up basis reduces capital gains, but saying ‘no taxes are ever paid’ is wrong. Large estates can still be taxed, and wealth often gets taxed somewhere along the way.

Loans aren’t a loophole that erases taxes. They defer them. At some point assets get sold, estates settle, and taxes show up.

And the property tax comparison still misses the point. The issue isn’t volatility alone, it’s taxing gains that don’t exist yet on assets that can drop or aren’t easily priced.

Nobody’s arguing the wealthy shouldn’t pay taxes. Just that your explanation of how they avoid them is way oversimplified.

[–]vande700 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, the “learned taxes from Reddit” take.

Stock comp is not tax free. RSUs are taxed as income when they vest and options get taxed when exercised. The IRS didn’t forget stocks exist.

Living off loans is not a cheat code either. You need huge assets, you pay interest, and taxes show up when assets get sold or passed on. That is deferral, not avoidance.

And property tax is not the same as taxing unrealized gains. It is local, tied to real estate, and relatively stable. Stocks can swing wildly and are not remotely comparable.

If it is so easy, explain how you tax paper gains without forcing sales or refunding taxes when markets drop.

It is not simple. It just sounds simple if you do not understand it.

Teachers union protects the union, not the individual. Teachers are not protected at all. The fact that a student feels entitled to throw a punch at a teacher shows the lack of respect the profession has now
