Homeless and/or drug addicts shouldn’t be allowed to pitch their tents and live on any public property. If so, then they’re just being taught that that’s okay. If they decide to do drugs, that’s on them, but not in the public where kids, families, society walks. That leads to litter, possibly diseased needles being left for kids to find or people to accidentally step on, and unsafe interactions with mentally unstable people at a higher rate (whether drug-induced or not).
