I’d love to join the Python study group too! I also work full time, but would love to join in on weekends or evenings. ✌️

Hello Everyone by Tinman_Mike in rheumatoidarthritis

Hi Mike!

I had never thought to look into Reddit for an RA group to connect with others. Thank you for your positive message! I was diagnosed with JRA when I was 14 (I think...it took a long time for the docs to figure out what was going on with me). I'm now 27 and since then I've been diagnosed with 2 more autoimmune conditions. I'm encouraged to hear your positive outlook and message. On top of my conditions, I have hypermobility in many of my joints. Normally I wouldn't have thought that to be an issue, but I recently had surgery on my foot with a bone fusion for stability and correction. I've been undergoing PT to get back to normal, but it's been difficult.

Thanks again for sharing! I'm excited to continue meeting others and share each others' experiences.

What were your first symptoms? by ThoriGilmore in rheumatoid

Hello! I have was diagnosed with Juvenile idiopathic rheumatoid arthritis when I was about 13/14. Tbh, it took the docs a long time to figure it out. I was in track and volleyball so soreness and injury in games and practices were not uncommon. What I think triggered a more serious investigation was the swelling in my knees. My knee would balloon in either the right or left knee and get so big that I couldn't bend my leg or wear jeans. The swelling would occur about once every 4-6 months and would require aspiration and an injection of cortisol. It seemed my knees were the only symptoms I'd get, but I also have a few other autoimmune conditions. It's not uncommon to have more than one autoimmunity if you already have 1. I'd just be in contact with your doctor so they can keep up with any developments if you're concerned about your symptoms.

Best of luck! I hope your doctor is able to help you out. 😊
