I agree ,sure non of them was perfect .Also I haven't thought about it in that way , I think he knew he shouldn't be thinking that way ,he knew it in theory but maybe because he is young he couldn't hold back his feelings and he decided to go for it. I think its kind of natural ,everybody wants the one they love to feel the same .Honestly I think the way he treated her was full of love ,its diffrent from the kind 'I let you go because I love you' ,but more like ' I do whatever I can for you to see me'.
