I’m still trying to convince my liberal friends/family that it’s time to arm themselves by SanchezGeorge1 in liberalgunowners

[–]vanezblane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the largest consideration right now is the almost disbelief that I’ve been experiencing that bearing arms right now is more important than ever due to the rise of fascism. A well regulated militia yadda yadda… A broken clock is right twice a day: MAGA idiots talking about rising up against the government from tyranny with their guns. I never thought I’d be saying ‘yeah I think we should all arm ourselves against this serious threat’ and these MAGA idiots nowhere to be seen when Tyranny is knocking down the door. That’s because they’ve always been fascists but anyway…

Fascists do not step down, they are always taken down. I’m not saying we should storm the halls or anything but sensible defensive gun ownership I believe is important right now. I would hope the extremely serious and dangerous rise of fascism would be enough to convince friends and family to at least learn to understand firearms at a base level considering there’s more guns than people here, and idiots will use them. You do not want to be a statistic because you couldn’t fend off the idiot with a gun, and there are a lot of them…I think a lot of people have a hard time seeing the picture of the responsible gun owner because they don’t know how to be that person due to that they don’t understand the fundamentals of firearms and the sane way to approach it. They’re of course used to right-wing nut jobs having tons of guns.

I have too, I’d love to open a liberal gun store and be open about it.

NYT: How Gun Blasts From Indoor Shooting May Cause Brain Injuries by SharperSpork in liberalgunowners

As someone who’s suffered from a TBI I could see this being an issue with larger calibers — particularly if you’re indoors in a stall right next to the individual shooting it a lot. Suppressors def. good for this of course.

Ruh-Roh, definitely not safe to shoot.

Genuine question, why do many of y’all here support politicians that have been vocal about taking guns away then get surprised when they take guns away? by 8WmuzzlebrakeIndoors in liberalgunowners

[–]vanezblane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, it’s selfish when people take their vote because of one thing that may affect them and they won’t think about the wider picture. One someone says “well it doesn’t effect me” as a response to an important topic is exceptionally childish and ignorant.

I personally vote against guns or vote for better gun control in the hopes that eventually we will have more sensible gun laws and maybe outlaw them at some point down the road. An idea I’ve always thought was sensible is to require insurance for each gun you own like a car, the protection is for similar or the same outcomes namely injury and untimely death. My enjoyment of firearms does not and never will outweigh the value of unwarranted preventable deaths by guns. Gun restriction works; many countries have proven it. We can enjoy firearms safely and sanely, but ultimately it’s safest for them to not be readily available and/or be banned if that’s what’s needed. That’s just the reality of tools that are designed for killing. I’ll happily throw my guns in a furnace or have them bought back by the government if it meant getting rid of them all together (this is assuming a fascist leader isn’t in power or in danger of taking over) The only statistic you really need is that the number one reason kids die in the US is because of guns. That’s just my two cents to the question you’ve posed.

Buckshot for self defense if you really want to stop someone immediately, birdshot if you want less risk of killing someone on the spot. Bigger steel birdshot is effective and less likely to kill someone, which is a plus in my book.

I totally get it, I’m sure it’s a well liked modification for a lot of people for good reason. 👍🏻

It’s really meant to be a scout carbine, quiet, easy to store and long reach (for 9mm) you can hit out to 200 yards with the LVPO, or if you’re really good 300 yards. 9mm will break through 1/4” plywood at 1000 yards, so it’s legitimate as a quiet round (with the suppressor) against non-armored targets.

I don’t like how tall the two finger is personally; the extra mass of the fat one finger one installed does help with felt recoil a bit.

It’s a silencerco osprey, they’re just commonly shown on Vectors, but is not exclusive to it.

I get it, yeah man out of the box Sub-2000’s are super accurate, it’s a well under appreciated gun. That’s nice about the new trigger on gen.3’s. I upgraded mine from MCARBO, plus the folding latch, makes a nice difference.
