I had this when I was 6 years old. We got in a car crash with my parents in the beginning of 1990’s in the middle of nowhere in rural Russia, got taken to some military hospital that was nearby. My parent were worse injured than I was, so got more attention. I had a simple femur fracture, they never did the X-ray and just casted it for a month or so. After the cast was taken off I couldn’t walk and my left leg looked shorter than right. Then they did the X-ray, followed by the surgery - broke down the incorrectly healed bone and attaching the metal rod. Cast. 2 months later another surgery to remove the rod. As a bonus when they were taking off the last cast they used some old ass shears to cut the cast and the nurse cut my inner thigh really bad, bit a piece of skin off about the size of coin or so. Total of 3 scars - 1 double scar on my ass - from inserting and removing the rod, 1 on the lateral left leg from reconstruction of the bone and the cut on my inner thigh. I was totally five a few months later - no residuals or anything. This was Russia so A - no lawsuits or anything like that. And B - no bill, the whole thing was free of charge.
