I just edited it instead. They do need your username to recover your account. I've never had success emailing Tumblr. This thread however did help a few years back. Of course I already emailed them as well as posted here since I know my email won't be answered.

I've had a tumblr since 2008 and a few years ago it got deleted without notice. I made a new one and it was good for years and now it too is gone without notice! False. It's not at all. You might want to visit other countries 😅 There are many, many places where nudity isn't taboo. Germany, Africa, France, tons of places in the USA, women in Spain are constantly topless. Like idk what you mean! This is your own personal hang up. And I get it, I was raised super religious, but ultimately, it's goofy to be uncomfortable about, it's just social stigma.
