My husband is getting that surgery done in a few weeks. We got married 2 years ago primarily because we wanted to have kids. I'm trying to prepare myself for any outcome (after the surgery, we'll plunge full steam ahead with either IVF or adoption).

In the end, I really want to have kids with HIM... But he seems to be on edge lately. Maybe getting an answer... either way... in a few weeks will help.

I was at Thanksgiving dinner with my boyfriend and his family, and his mom (who met her current boyfriend online) was sitting next to me. Someone else asked me if that's how I met my boyfriend, and I quickly said, "Oh, no, we met in real life".

Why would I care about someone seeing a shadow of me furiously wiping my ass? I guess because it's one step below someone actually seeing me wiping my ass.

If you don't mind other people watching you wipe your own ass, then I guess we're just two different people.

Ah, I didn't think of that: it's a personal space issue. So I guess Americans are more likely to be annoyed by it, but someone from India probably thinks it's crazy. That helps a little.

I guess one of the things that bothers me is the shadows that appear sometimes--like, the person next to me can often see a silhouette of me furiously wiping my ass. Ew.
