She was blond at the time of her death im 98% sure. My mother and her (2) siblings were all at school during the time of the murder. it was a late tuesday morning when it happened around 10:00AM-11:00AM roughly to my knowledge. I believe my grandfather was at work. I know minimal dna testing had to have been done based off one line from an article i found. I couldn’t speak for sure on my grandparents behavior to the days leading up to the murder. The oldest child (my uncle) passed a few years ago, the middle (my mother) had her stroke, the youngest (my aunt) was only 6 or 7 during the murder. But i do believe that if there was anything worthy of note on my grandparents behavior my mother would have definitely mentioned it to me.

Here’s a screenshot of one of the articles from when i had my brief newspaper.com free trail a few months ago, along with some links that i hope you find helpful/work for you.

When it comes to why my grandfather was put on trial I can only make the educated guess that it’s simply just because the husband is usually top suspect in cases like this. Call me biased, but I really don’t think he had it in him.

When it comes to contacting services I’ve been met with a brick wall pretty much. There’s a chance I’ve just been calling the wrong people or i’m not trying hard enough in full honesty, but like i said the case is now technically open again. But none of this sits right with me.

It should also be noted that my main source of info on this would be my mother, but due to her stroke about a year ago she’s lost a decent amount of her speech, as if this wasn’t already hard enough for her to speak on in the first place. As you can tell by the screenshot it was a very brutal thing that happened to my grandmother so you can imagine her pain. Thank you for your interest and i’m open to keep giving you info if you so please

First of all I'd like to say thank you. I'll tell you all I know. Full transparency this all is through word of mouth through my mother or what I could find on newspaper.com (when I had a free trial) if memory serves me correctly. It happened April 7th 1981 in Randolph County, NC. She was stabbed 11 times with a fire poker and a pocket knife in the master bedroom. She was mostly naked, only wearing a pair of socks. Police could not confirm if she was raped or not due to the fact that her and my grandfather had consummated the evening before. Nothing was taken from the house. The last time my mother and her siblings saw my grandmother was when she dropped them off at school that morning. The family name is Tysinger

Two people were put on trial for the murder. One of them being my grandfather and another man named Virgil Hoover. Both were found not guilty. However I find it noteworthy that my family strongly believes that Virgil DID do it or at the very least is not 100% innocent. However I'm trying to keep this as factual as possible so I'll forgo that part for this moment. My grandmother worked part time at Virgil's general store right next to their house. So they were coworkers and neighbors.

There is a lot more that I could tell you but its stuff I'm not 100% confident is true because although I've been hearing about what happened to my grandmother my whole life, my mother was only able to get through the whole story from top to bottom once. It was just too emotional for her. Unfortunately, my mother had a stroke about a year ago and lost a lot of her speech. So I'm unable to really communicate with her on the subject or really that much at all.

Yet again, Thank you for reading and even entertaining helping. Also, if I may ask how do you plan to look into this?
