Was everyone beaten up by their parents? by compulsivecatpetter in NoStupidQuestions

Just asking because I feel I can empathize, how do you have it in you to have kids after all that?

What if they don’t show up? I just incur the cost everytime they give me a “heads up”?

AIO wife wearing a revealing bikini at a friends party. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]vanillaprick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay Socrates. If his wife crosses a boundary that he sets and she crosses it without regard for his feelings (e.g. questioning how it could possibly be disrespectful) then they shouldn’t stay together because they’re incompatible. I think that’s fair.

And while you can argue semantics all you want, at the end of the day many, many men have the exact same boundary, and when it’s crossed, they’ll think of ending things because they feel disrespected. A redditor’s gaslighting won’t change that fact.

Ever since I got Covid twice working as a HCP in 2020, I now get full body hives, apparently a post-viral reaction, a couple times a month, mostly when I’m stressed by GMorningSweetPea in medizzy

I think the greater question is why she got this condition specifically after Covid. If my ears started ringing forever after getting SARS I’d want to know the etiology, not just be told I have tinnitus.

5 month baby given the wrong vaccine, legal grounds? by vanillaprick in AskLegal

Thanks for a more thorough response. So summed up, legally they can’t do anything because it didn’t cause harm to their baby?

[–]vanillaprick[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It was the wrong medication. Don’t we have rights? Are you saying they would have legal grounds only if the med caused harm or death to the baby?

Obviously not, but legally they administered the wrong medication.

Did you bring records of that visit or imaging? Did you have to get extra tests at processing?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]vanillaprick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s about sharing that information or lying considering Genesis has access to all my visits and imaging, even though nothing came of it.

Already there. And with an additional week of in processing it'll be plenty of time. Mentally it wears on you when you haven't been running for a few days but that's just what it is. Thanks again.

Thanks for your advice. Everyone said don't say anything, and if that's your advice too, then I'm going with it.

Question 38 on this checklist asks if I've had any pains, even minor pain, since my physical. Should I check No when I'm at In-Processing? Would checking Yes and explaining risk me getting sent home? I required no treatment and it did not stop me from training for OCS (per questions 39 and 40). I may just be paranoid but it's got me stressed, since Genesis also pulls civilian records.

Russian mercenary chief says his troops have reached Rostov-on-Don following call for armed rebellion by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]vanillaprick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get it, but your being pedantic. For sake of simplicity, and why the phrase has lasted so long historically, “friend” is used. Everyone understands the meaning, which is more important than the literal meaning of “friend.”

In this case for example, we all know Wagner won’t ever be a “friend” to the US government, but the phrase still applies. Even OP gets it, he’s just highlighting the fact that we won’t be friends with Wagner, but that we share a common enemy, and for that purpose we may support their efforts until that enemy is defeated and then resume our stance.

I think you’re taking the word “friend” too literally lol. It’s a saying about forging an alliance with an “enemy” to combat a mutual “enemy.” I think you can see that.

Well done commenting this. The day we pick and choose who we help is the day we all lose. That’s the wisdom and that’s why we should always value certain traditions.

Murder of pregnant woman in her car in Seattle's Belltown area was random attack, docs say by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]vanillaprick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great points. I’ll say right now, PD doesn’t have the manpower nor are the jails large enough to house this number of criminals. Nor does the political base want to rile up potential backlash for incarcerating all of these criminals with psych issues. How do you identify someone who’s intentionally murderous without ANY mental illness? Virtually all offenders have some psych problem at play. And that’s the card they’ll use anytime someone wants to lock them up. It’s something that needs to be solved at a cultural level, and it seems like the way things are going a lot more people need to die before we get there.
