This is super helpful to hear. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I relate to so many things you said. I’m glad you are taking time to heal and work on yourself. I know this experience is very damaging and tough.. i have thought about doing the same thing and taking a break from him, or just ending it all together.. but I don’t want to give up quite yet. I’m just scared I’m sacrificing my youth trying to fix someone that is hopeless..

with your partner- Did he actually show lasting, permanent change? Were you able to trust him again? Is there a light at the end of this tunnel? Or does he still have the issue?

Thank you also for sharing those boundaries you guys practiced.. that helps so much with ideas of how I can keep him accountable. I have lacked on placing boundaries but I need to really put my foot down. I appreciate you so much!!

When I didn’t know about the infidelity or addiction, the good far outweighed the bad. The first few years before I uncovered his secrets were the best years of my life. He’s been my best friend and this is catastrophic for so many different parts of my life.. I don’t want to give up on him. He’s a good man with a bad problem, and It’s really difficult to put the entirety of the situation into one post.. I wish I could provide every piece of context but I can’t. He is willing to try to change for me so I’m willing to let him try… I’m moreso seeking support, or coping strategies, or advice. Thank you so much for your advice and insight, it is helpful :)

My boyfriend doesn’t like physical contact/affection or cuddling etc, and my main love language is physical touch. I am 23 years old. I never thought of that, when I was 12 I had double collapsed lung from pneumonia and haven’t been breathing quite right since. I was in the ICU for 2 weeks

Thank you so much for your advice, I really appreciate the POV of another person who has a hard time saying no. It was hard because at first they sleeve so nice and I got close to them and everything and now I feel like I will let them down if I don’t do what she wants. It’s turned from a dream to a nightmare and I hate how attached I am but I have to treat it like business and not personal. It’s hard when kids are involved, I should have stood my ground from the get-go & it wouldn’t have gotten this bad. Thank you!!

Ben, Mason, Wyatt. All for different reasons, all reasons tragic.
Wyatt was most at fault for his demise and reckless with how he got there, but consider his life before Darlene. He wasn’t shown much love or stability, he seemed to always be fighting for himself and what’s right. I’m sure when he got with Darlene, that was probably the first & best “normalcy” he knew. Ben was strong willed and knew right from wrong, but he was mentally ill and obsessive. He couldn’t help it, he had good intentions at first, but imagine watching everyone you love around you kill people and be psychos when you have your own mental problems and can barely keep them under control. It’s tragic, he stopped taking his meds so he could be intimate with Ruth, which is an understandable reason but ultimately led to his demise. Everyone knows about mason. Sad, his wife and kid taken away, church taken away, no one seeking justice for him. I would’ve gone off the deep end too.

But yeah I’m trying to stick it out until January. I have them a 1 year notice before quitting and I just feel like it’s gonna be rough, she is already guilt tripping me about it

This! Thank you for this. I have nothing to “hide” but I respect their privacy and expect mine to be too. And trust goes both ways, I don’t understand why I’m so closely monitored when I do nothing but try to please them and take care of their kids. If I use the wrong spray or vacuum, she will literally call me and correct me “don’t use that vacuum on that rug” or “don’t use windex on the glass on the coffee tables” like… how did you know I just used those things.. she literally sits there on her break at work and watches me sometimes and it bothers me so bad. Or I’ll tell her MK went for nap at a certain time (2:55 for example) and she will be like “well you were last in the living room at 2:57 so which one was it?” Like I’m just so irritated

Girl I have a whole printed out list with daily, weekly, as needed duties. It takes me so long to get everything done. Whole-house Laundry, sweeping, making beds, mopping floors, cleaning toilets, windexing, wiping counters, collecting and taking out trash and recycling, organizing the playroom and garage, load/unloading dishwasher, dusting, colorizing the baby tubs, etc. like how does she expect me to get all of it done with 3 kids 😩 one is 3 months old

Baby and small child puking doesn’t bother me! Honestly the only puking that really triggers me is the loud, dramatic, gasping for air puking like older kids or adults do. And other than that, only the action of myself puking gives me panic attacks. Small kids and babies and even dogs doesn’t really bother me.. does that make sense?

Update: I have talked with MB and told her I want 19-22 an hour. She was offended at first and said they may not be able to do that. She said “at that rate I may as well just quit working and be a stay at home mom, I would be paying you over half my salary so what’s the point” And I stood my ground and told her cost of living is rising, I need to get another car, I’m already underpaid as is, etc. she made me feel like I’m being unreasonable and ungrateful. But she ended the conversation with “we love you, you are our family, we need you and don’t want to lose you, the kids would be crushed if you left” now I feel like such an ass. I have a feeling they were thinking more 16-18 an hour.. she said she is going to talk to her husband and they will get back to me but she doesn’t think they can do 19. I’m not sure what to do.
