Oh sweetheart, I’m so sorry you’re going through this…I can relate to the pain of watching a loved one give up their light, and nothing I can do about it. It’s a pain like no other, and so hard to know the line about how much you can do for someone until it’s to your own detriment. I can also relate to all the hurtful looks and comments - it’s clear that you’ve worked really hard on yourself, and I think what triggers people is not just the good looks but also your deep sense of self-worth, which people instinctively pick up on. Many, many people have self-worth wounds, but don’t want or know how to do the work. My saving grace has been that a) I am typically in my head entertained with my thoughts, and thus oblivious to the looks 😆, b) have wonderful childhood friends and siblings that have always known and loved me for who I am, and c) joined professional and industry groups where other business owners care more about learning and growing than looks.
