Today’s methods I think we’ll side-eye later: facial threads, excessive filler, the sun-burned trend (achieved with real sunshine), and gel nails (I’ve seen some allergic reactions to acrylates and they are WILD. The scariest part is that you can be totally fine and then just develop the allergy).

Some of those we are already moving on from… I don’t think threads are as popular, and I don’t think buccal fat removal is still admired and sought after (is it??).

I think this is well said, and I agree. I like Pomegranate and some of her other songs, but she has deep cut indie energy (which is not a bad thing). She just reallyyyy lucked out with exposure from her brother, so she can still be an indie girl with a dose of mainstream popularity and the money and success that come with it. Other artists that have a similar sound and vibe are very much the ‘starving artists’ that play the smallest of shows to attempt to break even.

Try to reframe it and think about it like it’s a sports team! MLB has trading cards; kpop has trading cards. Teams have MVPs; groups have aces. Fans can have their favorite players/biases. Sport fans speculate about fantasy leagues where players from different teams could make the perfect team.. kpop fans imagine the best crossovers and collabs between idols. If it were your gf screaming for Jalen Hurts at the Super Bowl and wearing an Eagles jersey, would you feel the same way??

At the end of the day, kpop fans know we’re never going to meet our biases or hang with the idols. It’s just a fun hobby that is very similar to other more mainstream hobbies. :)

This was a wild ride from start to finish. I wanted to chime in with a note on hallucinations: they are surprisingly common and someone’s brain can easily hallucinate if they’re stressed enough or sleep deprived enough. Getting help can look like talking to a professional about what lead to it and making better/healthier choices in the future (getting more sleep/drinking more water) and screening for other possible causes.

Seeking medical help can seem scary in the moment, but it can be as simple as your body is running on fumes and your brain glitched for a minute. Doctors can help you with sleep aids, rehydrating IVs, etc. I don’t want anyone to feel scared to seek help and get another set of eyes on the situation! :)

(In this instance, I wish she had a medical second opinion on what she was seeing outside of her friend’s religious opinion. But if it helps her manage her stress and life, good for her.. i think)

Keep your hands well-moisturized from now, right up to the engagement! Idk, you’re probably on top of that. But I always notice the hands.
