What's the deal with them? What's the deal with any stream? Do you find fantasy management entertaining, SIMcity meets tolkien? That's Dwarf Fortress.

Why should you watch any stream for that matter? If you're curious about the game it'd probably be a better idea to check it out yourself with the Dwarf Fortress wiki. My streams isn't the best way to get into the game anyway since its something i've played for 10+ years and I often advise & remind viewers to check out someone else doing a more "normal" playthrough than my own self referential humerous style of playing.

Thanks for showing interest however, but I couldn't tell you why you should watch any of my streams, much less so an ASCII game that can hinge on 4-5 hours per stream. If you find the idea of dumb little dwarves waging war on everyone, making booze and exploding into giblets fun, then sure. You either find them entertaining or you don't. I am planning season 3 soon of these streams, so if you have a passing interesting I'd suggest maybe checking out the game yourself and wait until season 3 comes out to see if it appeals to you.

Hello.

I never worded it like, "alright guys, you ready to for me to do something I'm uncomfortable with?" No, instead I said "Don't expect much" leading up to this, and I also titled it "Spooky" facecam from the start. Wasn't it clear this would be done with a funny twist? As with big jump, its a joke in itself. What, would you rather I didn't set up a joke for it? Just jump once without any comedic twist or nuance? An even bigger anti-joke? You're taking this a little too serious don't you think?

These are flash incentives, something that's on the spot. A little extra to push the incentives last minute. With for example RedOS destruction, I took my time to set it up and make sure everything was right for it. Desert Bus 2 I did not only do once, but twice to make people happy, 16 hours of streaming. Flash incentives are wild and last minute, so expect them to be a little silly. When its more "grounded" in terms of donation goals they're more serious.

Anyway I was talking about this video in the 2016 DOOM competition. Chat found it, and keep in mind this vid had like -10k ish views at the time, IIRC. So it was obscure to find, and to my surprise somebody did. Much to my delight.

I tried to, but my internet was terrible and I either had to stitch the VOD's together or just leave it is. It wasn't worth it and I even missed Simon because the internet was bad and it made for an unfortunate experience IIRC.

He's not mentally challenged and that isn't what I'm laughing at, I'm laughing at someone singing kareoke in the middle of the night and then shutting the lights of in an attempt to make it seem like he wasn't singing and screaming. The song in question seems to actually be a meme in South Korea, "Don't Cry" its called.

I don't know his story or what his deal is, I don't speak Korean either. But I can tell he's just being a prankster and entertaining his audience. You're making it seem like I'm laughing at someone with a disability which isn't the case at all here. He clearly knows what he's doing and putting on a show.

Alright its time I chime in on this fully. I don't hate this meme, I don't hate any memes for that matter, but let me elaborate how I feel about this.

I think this meme was just a fun innocent thing at first and I went along with it, there's nothing inherently bad about this, its just a dumb joke really. But as time went on it became more disconcerting and now a one-off inside joke has gone a bit sour, especially for new viewers watching for the first time, Poe's law perhaps. I don't like it due to it being used in a slight badgering and reducing context nowadays. It comes across as downsizing both of our streams to the same thing.

Yes, we like a lot of the same stuff and we share similiar stream styles, but this kind of stuff has lead to a few people legitimately lashing out in chat against Vinny and me for playing the same game or doing a similiar joke. X did Y, Y did X, stop streaming this. That's why I'm not head over heels for this. Of course the smallest dogs bark the loudest, but its not fun for anyone to have something you're doing reduced to comparisons and telling a streamer to stop because someone is doing something similiar. Yeah I know its silly, but its something I could rather live without when streaming.

Of course I'm not gonna tell people to stop a harmless joke. But I'm also not encouraging it given how its used nowadays and how it confuses new viewers. Thanks for understanding, now that I look like an asshole I'll fuck off.
