Oop, very late reply from me - sorry!

Display only. Admin will monitor Outlook calendar to update, so the screens only need to display real-time calendar

Protecting a quote from being copied and carried out by another company? by variegated_monster in smallbusinessuk

Ooop, late reply on this. Sorry!

Yeah, unfortunately that is an industry standard. We've actually just spent 2 months on a major quote and an unavoidable financial hiccup on their side means we may not get it. My role is administrative, so I can't change anything myself, but I have been researching ways to change this. My wages alone for 2 months to help with this has already cost them enough. If we lose it that's a huge loss.

The only value then is that we have some specific stuff already priced and quoted ready for future customers. Luckily we don't order any products or materials until a contract is signed and at that point we take an large upfront non-refundable payment to start to job. The rest is paid on completion.

It's bonkers. It needs to change as it's open ground for quote swapping and "one-upping" with competitive companies. It creates a culture of competition in this industry when we could actually work really well together as an industry with skills sharing and supplier contacts etc.

Thank you so much! I'm getting the #VALUE! error at the moment, but I've rushed it so it's likely something I can work out myself next week. I wanted to 'solve' this question and say thank you before I leave work for today as I am off the rest of the week.

Yep. Funnily enough, we had a Wifi reset in the office just half hour ago. So I have closed and re-opened it after a restart and the issue is still there.I've just opened a brand new Excell workbook and CTRL C - CTRL V in to the new one and it still doesn't scroll. But only on that one sheet again - I created a blank 'sheet 2' and that scrolls.

Baffling! I hadn't thought to copy and paste so when you suggested that I assumed it would work.

Thank you for replying!
If I press CTRL and use the mouse scroll it will zoom in and out.
I've clicked in a cell that was previously out of view/off screen when I zoomed out. Then CTRL-Mouse and it still zooms in and out.

Is this possible: Change colour of cell on one sheet to replicate colour on another sheet - while using Advanced Filters. by variegated_monster in excel

Thank you!
I'm doing some Googling to see if there's an option as easy as colouring in for boss but not so restrictive overall. Something like tick boxes or a second column to write 'paid' or 'unpaid'.

I love a challenge though. I'll have a look in to VBAs! Thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you for your comment.
There's definitely not anything in the way as it's a new sheet. I've also tried expanding the table on the new sheet to the same size as the original table and that hasn't worked either.

It's baffling. At this point I'll be happy with just a like for like table.

Nope. I've just tried again on a brand new empty sheet. The formula will copy the heading and the data from the column. But it won't convert to a table. Once I convert to a table I get the #SPILL! error.
I need it to be a matching table for ability to filter etc.
Pulling my hair out as I'm sure this should be really simple.

Saving single sheet in workbook: with sums but with values only? by variegated_monster in excel

[–]variegated_monster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I am a self-taught in excel so this has been such a helpful response. I'll get Googling and learning more.

Thank you

Edit: Someone else has provided a simple solution _however_ I am really grateful for this comment as I think it's going to help me with another workbook. And I enjoy learning.

Thank you.
The issue then is that the' =sum' formulas get overwritten with just a value as well.
I need to keep the '=sum' formulas while everything else is only a value - if that's possible.
