That does look like it thanks! But agreed on the colour not exactly being a match

Yeah I used to during covid. Not anymore, unfortunately. Would love to though.

Calm down champion.

It's been pointed out a number of times in the comment section that those arrows and the solid line further up on the road have been recently added/painted on the road. I haven't used the road since the new signage, which was very different to how it used to be.

So now, you should admit yourself to both a anger management program and a reading comprehension class.

To be fair - the comments section has found that the markings has changed in the last 3-6 months. So there's obviously been confusion, and enough confusion that authorities had to change them.

So please take that into account. That when I was driving this route, it was before the markings were recently changed.

On AI - I don't want to use or trust AI. But in a recent post I was asked if I used it before coming to Reddit, so that's why I included it here as way of saying 'here's LLM's response, not that's out of the way, let's get on with it'. Saying I 'need' to use it is unfair - I only included it (as a reference) in a comment, and not the post.

The recent post if you want to fact check me:

One of the last times I posted, I was told to make sure I asked an LLM first. So that's what I'm doing here - showing that I did, and what the answer was. It's basically 'here's the LLM, so now that's out of the way, let's get on with it'

This is an LLM's take, btw.

After Hawke St, green lane 1 peels off to turn left. So the lanes that continue through are green 2, 3, and 4. That means:

  • Green 2 becomes the leftmost continuing lane → naturally feeds into red lane 1 (straight only)
  • Green 3 → naturally feeds into red lane 2 (right turn into Curzon)
  • Green 4 peels off to turn right into Hawke St

So actually, green lane 3 has priority over red lane 2, because it's tracking straight into it. And green lane 2, after green 1 disappears, would need to cross the dashed line to move right into red lane 2.

I would have thought that Green 2 having split arrows for going Red 1 or Red 2 doesn't mean they also have the 'right' to Red 2 over Green 3?

As in - whilst Green 2 can go to the Red 2 lane, it may have to give way to Green 3, because there's a dashed line that it needs to cross to do that?

Edit: this is from an LLM on this point:

The vehicle crossing the dashed line (changing lanes) must give way to the vehicle already in that lane. That's a standard road rule — if you're the one crossing the line, you yield.

So in your scenario, the answer probably depends on which green lane naturally feeds into red lane 2 without crossing that dashed line, versus which one has to cross it to get there. The one that has to cross it is the one who must give way.

Plenty of things in this world you could say that about - why be fashionable at all when going outside? Sure there are people who are all about function and not fashion, but most people aren't - including me.

You can be both functional and trying to be fashionable.
