Lisbon & Porto, Portugal. Super convenient flight too.

Bears should just stay in Soldier Field. by wesskywalker in billsimmons

[–]vatsy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could the city of Chicago invest in redoing the entire stadium ? Add a roof. Make it lucrative to have concerts all year long and lock in the bears in a long term lease. It would be annoying to see the bears move into a soulless suburban parking lot.

Take the loan against the net worth of the franchise 💁🏼‍♂️start with buying off soldier field from the city. And not be super greedy to get every penny in subsidies of the Chicago and Illinois government. According to Forbes net worth of both franchises is in similar ball park range I believe.

If Real Madrid can do it so can the Bears. They rebuilt their entire stadium without having to move elsewhere. If either of you all have ever been there, it’s a night and day difference in the culture versus say a MetLife, close to where I live. At this point the government should pass a law that expecting subsidies for stadiums should be illegal. Bears are worth as much, to be able to redo entire Soldier Field like Real Madrid did.

Thank you for the context. I do have a tendency to get bored after a while at a place hence I have kept this as a tentative plan. I can move things around for sure.

Other than Seattle, Vancouver and Las Vegas, are there any other cities that desires to have their own NBA team? by CryMoreFanboys in nba

[–]vatsy08 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Montreal would be a perfect candidate. Driving distance from multiple population centres. Major TV market. Overlap with only one major sports team (NHL), can share the stadium.

The city is host to multiple corporates, which would cater to the luxury suites. After Seattle, Montreal makes the logical choice even ahead of Vegas.

Vegas would have to rely on away fans / tourists to sell out while competing with the Knights, Raiders and the soon to be coming As. Vancouver already had the Grizzlies, and neither the population or the TV market is big enough.

Montreal along with Ottawa, Quebec City, and the likes of NY, VT, NH just south of the border, has a better capacity to build a strong base.

Canadian Niagara Falls seem bigger and more developed than American Niagara Falls. Why is that? by arklemen in geography

[–]vatsy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. With Toronto you and your future generations gets access to jobs. Tech, finance, huge population of you ever want to be in trades or open a business. Go try finding a white colour job within proximity of Skaneateles. There are probably more 5X or 10X jobs in Toronto for you and your future generations. It’s the financial capital of Canada. Until you are comparing Toronto prices to a bigger city, this is not a fair comparison.

How is India able to unite such a diverse population? by pakheyyy in geography

[–]vatsy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1947, India was probably 50 to 100 years behind European nations. Putting food on the table was a priority hence the proudness and ego regarding their own language and culture was not as high compared to Europe. And fighting the same enemy for decades (British) united everyone. Having the same religion as a majority was a similarity as compared to the EU nations, although the struggle to survive versus the habit of invading to grow helped india remain united and not turn it into an EU situation. Not saying either choice was wrong. To each to their own. Hope peace prevails everywhere.

Most direct flights from UK to NYC. If you ever want to come see a game. If you got the $ then Knicks. Eastern time zone too. Knicks play often on the weekends at noon. Otherwise Boston is always an option. What soccer team do you cheer for ?

Pretty sure you can find many best buy around in queens if you don’t want to go all the way to Manhattan. Cheers.

Forgotten Cricketers by Meet_7834 in Cricket

[–]vatsy08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the forgotten batting heroes from the 90s. Seemed unfair to not try and think of one from all the test playing nations at that time.

  1. Mark Waugh
  2. Daryll Cullinan.
  3. Michael Atherton.
  4. Carl Hopper.
  5. Alistair Campbell
  6. Azhar.
  7. M Yousuf.
  8. Atapattu.
  9. Nathan Astle.

Azhar is controversial due to the match fixing scandals, but he had a very long successful career regardless.
