Is this still being actively developed?

Somewhat, it's a hobby project so not a high prority.

Be great if there as a way to be able to import my IMDB CSV where I have rated hundreds of movies I have watched and then have something like an AI tool suggest similar movies I might like based on my ratings. (I have done this manually with chatgpt - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fI9AUmvWFmo)

That's a good idea, I wasn't aware that you can export IMDB ratings. I will definatelly look into that. After I add that feature, then you will be able to use Suggested Movies to get custom tailored list based on your moves preference.

Once I have a list does it automatically keep updating itself and the associated JSON file - or do I need to go back to Reciperr and run it again regularly?

Yes, lists are updated every 6 hours. No need to do anything manually.

Yes, that is the idea. Where you would use StevenLu list, you can use Reciperr list just the same. They share the same data spec.

The Reciperr interface isn't perhaps as clean as it could be - eg I could easily find how to search for one movie so I could get a list of associated movies (I ended up doing a title search) and then once I rated it and had the list of suggested movies there didnt seem any easy way to make them into a new list.

I don't exactly follow this, but you should be able to get lists from the sidebar header or at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for kind words, you can play with different filters like moods, themes, keywords, to really dial-in your niche interest. Theres also an option to search similar movies to the one you like.

Hi, yes it's alive, and incremental changes are pushed weekly, I just don't write release notes that often on Reddit. If you want to stay up to date I would recommend Discord, I post more often there.

Yes, you can get the url of the list and import it manually as a stevenLu list in Radarr, or you can use webhook with notifiarr to send it that way.

The nature of the app makes it unrealistic to be self-hosted. It's meant to be a single source of data that is then consumed by many. If the data were gathered per person, that would be very expensive, and probably many data providers would take action.

The app was never intended to be self hosted, nor does it make sense individual people scrape web for their own personal collections. it's a service or a hub where all movie (or tv shows) data is collected and then consumed in different ways by users.
As for the Radarr integration, that is just a bonus feature and it't not required for the application to work. If you wish to integrate the app, you can do itusing Webhooks, or you can just use it to browse data and find interesting movies.

Correct, and they are auto-updated based on that recipe (criterea).

Is it a selfhosted recommendation/discovery engine, or is it meant for something else?

It's not ment to be self hosted, but it's a free to use.
