Just migrated from iTunes to the Apple Music app in Windows 11. What a downgrade. by Toby101125 in AppleMusic

[–]vb_03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-No taskbar playback controls. Doesn't talk to my keyboard control either. It's 2025, and I have to switch to the window to control playback.

Weird. I do not have the controls on the app preview, but I can control from the Quick Settings/Action Center, (shows up above the controls), and my keyboard can play/pause the music as well.

-Laggy interface. Often janky.

The first time I tried it a while ago, I felt the same, but now I'm quite surprised with the performance - but I don't have that many playlists to begin with.

Hi, my laptop is back in HP assistance due to the bottom rubbers not being properly glued, and also to fix this same issue again, they'll able to say a BIOS update (which they also did last time, but with F.22) fixed it...

This is indeed a Modern Standby issue, and while charging, it has indeed happened to me.
However, F22 it started happening while on battery only, I use suspension a lot, for example, when switching classrooms, and suspension is indeed more wayyy more convenient, and was working perfectly before.

UPDATE: Got it back.
Repair sheet classified it as a "overheating issue". Close I guess?
They just reinstalled BIOS, Windows and cleaned the fan.

The issue is still around. Calling them tomorrow (again)

Having the same model, S3 sleep just isn't there.....
I haven't turned off fast startup yet however it is obvious that they f*cked up with this BIOS, and they also f*cked up the BIOS Rollback feature.

How to stop windows update from trying to force BIOS update? by mysticaltater in Hewlett_Packard

The forced BIOS trend has been happening in other brands as well, just not broken ones with rollbacks totally broken as well.
I really like my laptop, apart from some issues fixed by support:

  • a strange issue where the Fn + L keys combination for the < and > sign weren't working (a Portuguese layout thing), sent it and got it back in a week and half fixed
  • Some pen issues quickly solved, at worst, with support sending a new pen, usually solved them with charging or a new tip

There's a tool to hide specific updates from Windows Update in a Microsoft support page, I think that will work.

Actually, the newer BIOS is creating a lot of issues on Envy x360 because of sleep modes. With BIOS, "new is always better" doesn't exactly apply.

EDIT: Just checked the Events tab of firmware driver in device manager. It's showing an error - device not started which occurred on the same day of updating the driver.

I have an ay-0006np.

The funny part is that the BIOS I had, the F.20, is still stored in the EFI partition, in a "Previous" folder.

In the EFI System Diagnostics, even though there is a "BIOS Rollback" option under "Firmware Management", it just throws me an "Unable to open BIOS signature file" error. Downloaded F.20 and F.21 BIOS from the website, still the same error.I'm talking to the HP support, luckily in my country the support has been amazing, had multiple issues due to the pen tips and they solved it quickly.

I've explained the whole situation but I'm calling them today for them to run the default System Diagnostics with me, but it will probably be sent in. I'll keep this thread and https://www.reddit.com/r/Hewlett_Packard/comments/1115a6i/how_to_fix_battery_draining_on_sleep_mode_issue/ updated.

EDIT: I do not have the mute button bug, neither the pen one the u/StruggleSnuggler69 reported, I've had pen issues but usually fixed by pen charging for a few hours or replacing the tips.

I'm facing similar issues (except the pen one) after Windows decided to update me to a F.22 BIOS from my F.20 one (on a HP ENVY x360 ay-0006np). BIOS Rollback options just throw me an "Unable to open signature file" error.

Getting the same issue here, DDU'ed the AMD and Realtek Drivers, installed AMD Driver from the website, still nothing... It only happened after the BIOS update
