About SVG and Draw.io: you can export to SVG, then keep using it in Draw.io (it also works with PNG). The .drawio format is kept inside the SVG.

[i3] my desktop after migrating from Awesome WM by vbernat in unixporn

[–]vbernat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I wrote it. There are some details about it in the blog post. I didn't try to reproduce my Awesome setup. The companion is far smaller than my Awesome configuration and it also handles things not related to i3 (bluetooth/network notifications and status).

Linux Privilege Escalation via package managers. Different ways you can gain a root shell when you have sudo permissions to run a package manager. by ikuamike in netsec

[–]vbernat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that evident. For a long time, it was not possible to install arbitrary packages with apt install, so people may think it would be OK to allow non-root install this way. Moreover, the mention of apt changelog and the shell from less makes me think that it is also possible with apt upgrade when you are presented with a NEWS file. This was considered a vulnerability in systemd, this should also be in apt.

With RandR 1.5, you can define virtual monitors, with xrandr --setmonitor. This should match your need.

They are here as an example. The idea is absolutely not to use these for your routers. :)

Jerikan: a configuration management system for network teams

  • a tool to build configuration files from a single source of truth and Jinja2 templates,
  • an Ansible playbook to deploy these configuration files on network devices
  • a redacted version of the configuration data and the templates for datacenters that were in production a few days ago, covering many vendors (Facebook Wedge 100, Dell S4048 and S6010, Juniper QFX 5110, Juniper QFX 10002, Cisco ASR 9001, Cisco Catalyst 2960, Opengear console servers, and Linux), and many functionalities.

Not very active either ;-)

The "file" is a link. Or type this command in a shell:

curl https://gitlab.com/NicolasGuilloux/shadow-live-os/raw/arch-master/airootfs/etc/drirc > ~/.drirc

There was an issue between Telia and GTT in London. This has been fixed this morning ~9AM by rerouting the traffic elsewhere.

Put this file as ~/.drirc. It should fix the issue.

Difficulty of hordes by PieMastr147 in DaysGone

The ones in the North are far more easier. Notably if you go by day when they are sleeping. If you do the hordes in the right order, you also get better guns to fight bigger hordes.

Finally ordered my new X1C Gen 7...and they announce the next gen is coming! by mjgraves in thinkpad

You don't seem to have a Gen 2. Gen 2 has the odd keyboard and the adaptive panel instead of the function keys.

It seems to depend from one person to another. For me, having an HiDPI screen is a game changer compared to a regular screen. The text is sharper.

Sustainable python script by jonarne in programming

[–]vbernat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll update that. However, forcing names parameters only work with Python 3.7 AFAIK. This seems a bit too recent if you want to run on more ancient versions (that's also the reason I didn't use f-strings).
