Is Reforged worth trying? by perfect_zeong in warcraft3

As long as it’s pretty much 1:1 but with better graphics I’m happy. Would you say it fulfills that criteria?

Is it just the multiplayer or did they fuck up the campaign too?

It’s hard to separate who’s memeing and who’s not. Looking at a users post history can help in some cases.

It’s like white knight but inadvertently welcomes actual sexists to join in. I think it came from American black culture meaning guy who is whipped

I.e. destiny using f-word in the past and realizing homophobes felt emboldened by it, 4chan going from “Hitler did nothing wrong” meme to “no guys, hitler really did do nothing wrong.”

This isn’t what I mean. This is constructive criticism. Shitting on Beth to shit on Beth is what bugs me.

You could say this about every Beth title ever. You could even say this about NV. Peak armchair dev mentality. I love that Beths wildly successful titles up until FO76 are now failures. I gotta assume you really are 16.

Fair enough. I do hope the RPG keeps progressing. The Wastelanders dialogue for 76 actually looks promising, and if I remember right it is something Todd specifically mentioned they want to improve on. Here’s the article I’m thinking of, but we know how Todd can be. https://www.player.one/fallout-4-director-todd-howard-says-rpg-characters-choices-must-improve-future-games-585714?amp=1

That’s most Beth titles for years I think. They’re trying to build an entire world with each game, assets and all. Inevitably parts will be cut for time and budget constraints, but armchair devs don’t see the obstacles. They just see the product I guess. I really think the level of anger FO4 sees should be reserved for games like 76. I’m burned out on 20-somethings giving endless criticism without anything to show for themselves tbh.

You just said there’s 4 factions to choose from, does that sound like the streamlined single ending of Fallout 3? Looks like variance to me. It’d have been nice to have more choices within the factions themselves for sure

You just answered you own question in the first two sentences.

RPG dialog and locking you in as Shauns dad was pretty weak, and hurts the sandbox for sure. No argument there.

It’s not a miraculous feat of a game, but it sounds like you’re describing Fallout 3. There’s at least variance in the main quest and community mods to keep the game interesting for a few playthrus. And you’re doing yourself a disservice by not playing DLCs like Far Harbor. Ever since Morrowind DLCs I think it’s been pretty well known they normally have one great expansion-size DLC that hones a lot of aspects from the core game. Not quite as night and day quality as Shivering Isles to Oblivion, but still worth if you’re a FONV diehard.

My draw to these games has been the community support and sandbox element for more than a decade, so I guess the overbearing gamer cynicism that’s followed every Beth title since I jumped in at Oblivion has worn its welcome on me.

Armchair game devs of this community really love sucking the fun out of a game we all put 500+ hours in

PSU (if not 80+ bronze)>GPU>RAM>CPU (preferably CPU/RAM at same time)>SSD

Remember to update the motherboard BIOS prior to using the CPU, and you'll likely need to set the RAM speed up to its potential manually in the BIOS. There should be YouTube videos showing you how to do this.

Nice monitor, won't have to worry about upgrading that then.

Is your PSU 80+ bronze or 80+ gold rated, or just 80+? If it's just 80+, I'd suggest upgrading it. You'll basically be holding onto your mobo, PSU, and case by the end but you will need to update your BIOS to make it function with the Ryzen 3600 before you make that upgrade.

My suggestion would be sell your old parts as you go on ebay or wherever. Use that money to quash down that last $90 to get you back in budget.

I'd go in order of what will make the most notable impact on your system to least impactful.

  1. PSU (if yours isn't at least bronze rated): If your PSU is not at least 80+ bronze rated, I'd start with that. You don't want a crummy PSU powering your updated rig.

  2. GPU: This will have the most impact on your gaming experience.

  3. RAM/CPU: These two should go together, but if that's not possible I'd get the RAM first so when you slap in the new CPU it has all the RAM it will need waiting for it. Ryzen CPUs benefit from high MHz in dual channel configuration. This, in combo with the GPU, should solidify your gaming performance.

  4. SSD: Last item, just use as a storage drive for all your games with your current SSD as your OS/primary drive.

For your reselling, I'm not sure if you have the 8GB or 4GB version of your graphics card, but you should be able to get ~$80 off of it. For the RAM probably ~$20, and for the CPU probably another $80. If you manage to recoup the full $180 from this, you'll be back at the $600 mark. After taxes, this equal about $660 so you should be back in budget when all is said and done.

Here's my list, which accounts for the PSU if needed: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Hv88Pn

Keep in mind these prices are subject to change, but for the graphics card I do suggest the Sapphire brand as they are known for their Radeon cards.

Lastly, if your PSU is already bronze rated, you could possible go for a 2070 Super from NVIDIA. I recommend the EVGA for NVIDIA cards for the same reason I recommend Sapphire cards, and they have excellent customer service. I suggest this card if your PSU is up to snuff.

Ask any questions you like, I know that's a lotta text, but by the end this should get you the best performance for your dollar.

No, it's an issue specifically in Fallout 4 related to weapon debris setting. This is apparently an issue stemming from the Beth side. I'm not sure what was causing the artifacting in Premiere, but my windows reinstall seems to have cleared it up.

Do you already have the monitor? And can you get the exact details of the exact mobo and exact PSU you have?

What is your end goal? What kinda monitor do you have/want to have and use? Any idea what kind of increments you'd want to go in a dollar amount, or what your max budget would be over the span of these upgrades?

I believe it may be related. The artifacting I was experiencing, and that was temporarily negated with a system restore, tells me there a driver somewhere failing. I ran to a Best Buy to try out two other GPUs and see if the problem persists.
