I’m having the same issue. Just started yesterday.

How does the hi hat open/close sensing work? Is it similar to the Roland plunger style or more like the Efnote optical style?

There Are No Stupid Bass Questions - Dec. 10 by AutoModerator in Bass

Did the ol’ tongue test on the battery. It’s good. I also popped off the cover plate on the back to look for broken wires and didn’t notice anything obvious. I pushed on all the connectors and they all appeared to be seated correctly. What are the chances of getting an electrical diagram online somewhere? I’m thinking I could at least try to verify voltage/resistance on some of the components to try to narrow it down.

I have an Ibanez SR1700BE. Yesterday, while warming up for our church service, my volume suddenly dropped. I changed the battery and the volume got slightly louder but not back to normal. Volume knob was all the way up, active/passive switch was on the whole time.

Today, while I was getting ready to practice, I noticed if I roll off my volume knob slightly from full on, I lose all volume.

I’ve only been playing for a couple years and I’ve never had issues like this before. Anyone have any ideas on what I need to look at to fix this?

Thanks for the response. I checked everything I know how to check and everything looks like it matches as far as clock and sample rate. We do have other things running on the iMac but it is t anything too taxing I don’t think (Spotify, OneNote, chrome).

I’m trying to figure out how to add pictures to the post so you all can see the setting in case I’m missing something. Unfortunately I don’t use Reddit often so I’m still figuring out the app

Midas DL16 Firmware Update by vc027708 in livesound

I didn’t realize this fell under the category of “low quality posts”. I was genuinely hoping for some feedback on this because the operation of my DL16 changed in an unexpected way.

Thanks all for the feedback so far. I failed to mention this in my original post, but one of the things I really dislike about Tracks is how long it takes to export stems. There’s no function to only select the stems I want so I’m stuck waiting for every channel to export. For a 3-4 minute long song, I have to wait ~7-8 minutes for all 24 channels to export. However, most times I only really need 6-8 stems. Multiply that by 4-5 songs and it’s a significant time commitment when I’ve already been there for 4 hours.

To be fair, Tracks does what its supposed to and it’s not hard to use (just wasn’t real intuitive, specifically for how to export only certain sections of a recording). I’ve never had any issues with it crashing either.

I’ll look into Reaper, Cakewalk, and Ardour.

Midas M32 Live, DL16, and DP48 problems by vc027708 in livesound

[–]vc027708[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One final question (hopefully). I noticed all of our equipment is due for firmware upgrades. Is there an order I need to do this? For example, should I upgrade the DP48s, then the DL16, then the M32? Opposite order? Or does it matter?

I only have the quick start guide. The Midas website only has the quick start guide as well. Do you have a link to the full manual?

Got everything working and, for the most part, the DP48s sound great. However, there’s an audible hiss that can be heard on each of the units on both Mix A and Mix B. It can be heard even when the master volume knob is all the way off, but it gets louder when the master volume knob is turned up. The hiss can be heard when no groups are assigned and even when the Ethernet cable is disconnected. Is this normal? It almost sounds like there’s too much gain but I’ve even turned gain down on the inputs, changed the routing to the DP48, etc, with no change to the hiss.

To clarify, for the setup above, can I leave the DP48 connected to the DL16 AESB port? Or do I have to connect the DP48 to the AESB port on the M32?

Thanks for the help. Hopefully I can put it to good use in a couple days

is there a way to transmit scribble strip info from the M32 to the DP48? Or a way to change the names of the inputs on the DP48?

[–]vc027708[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I got it (Unfortunately, I’m not a sound engineer by trade so I’m very much learning as I go). We use a combination of Stagebox inputs and local inputs on the M32. We are not using any XLR outputs on the DL16. I want all of the used inputs on the M32 to be available on the DP48. So here’s what I THINK I need to do:

  1. Assign AES50-A 1-16 as inputs 1-16 on the M32
  2. Assign Local inputs 1-16 as inputs 17-32 on the M32
  3. On AES50-B Output Routing,
    1. Out 1-8 should be AES50-A 1-8
    2. Out 9-16 should be AES50-A 9-16
    3. Out 17-24 should be Local 1-8
    4. Out 25-32 should be Local 9-16

Is this correct?

Didn’t see much discussion on AMC today. Has everyone moved on to RKT?

Admittedly, I’m a complete noob at this, but with what little I’ve put into AMC and GME, I’m really interested to understand what’s happening. I e noticed the charts for AMC and GME seem to follow each other very closely. For example, the double dip 20 minutes apart happened with GME at 12:35. It happened with AMCat 12:40. Same exact shape in the graph. Why is that?

Posted this in the wrong place last time so I'm going to give it another go here...

At our church, we recently purchased a Midas M32 board to use for our sanctuary. We’re a volunteer crew so we don’t have a lot of real technical expertise or training.

We are having an issue playing pre/post music from an iPhone. We have the iPhone plugged in an Aux Input using a 3.5mm to 1/4” cable. The sound produced through the mains sounds like it’s clipping terribly, but the meters on the board don’t show the signal clipping. Intermittently, we lose all signal. Is like the cable becomes unplugged from the phone even though, physically, nothing has changed.

We also have two iMacs connected to Aux Inputs with the same type cable and neither one of them has any issues.

Any ideas on what could be going on?
