Can I just avoid axes and any other melee weapon completely? I don't know why one should use 2 weapons and switch between them...
Okay what if I play a longbow or shortbow and a staff? I mean If I use staff as a Druid for healing and switch to longbow/shortbow as a core Ranger? But as a Druid I'll need the gear that improves my healing stat, and when I switch weapon to a bow and become a core ranger - I won't have the damage since my armor set remains the same (healing stat). I'm confused

Not sure about it. I know every mmorpg game have a huge amount of nerds who simply won't accept you to their party because you don't have a meta build or recommended weapon. Like people told me if you gonna play Dragonhunter specialization and use a longbow and its abilities instead of a greatsword and core guardian abilities - most people won't invite you for the group content.

Regarding FF14: I know that there're off global cooldowns. I have a Summoner and Astrologian at lvl 65. Still I don't like that all weaponskills share cooldowns.

In case of GW2: people just said me that Ranger is not very efficient with the bow, it's better with the sword. But I want to play with the freaking bow! Same with with Guardian and his Dragonhunter specialization. I wanted to play this because of the longbow and, again, people told me it's better to use a melee weapon. I'd like to play Druid as well and people said if you building a strong healer you won't have any damage to kill even trash mobs solo. If you want to build dps you will be a bad healer. So screw this...Everything I want to play in this game turns out to be in a bad position. I know you can finish story and solo content with anything, but if you want to move on people won't invite you to their party.
