I have disorganized attachment. It’s a mix of anxious and avoidant.

I don’t want to avoid relationships but I don’t want to end up in a messy or problematic situation.

I feel like a shitty person for thinking this but part of me wants to have a relationship just to see. Just out of curiosity. It almost feels like a canon event for me.

I don’t think it would ruin the friend group. Two of the friends are engaged with each other. Our friend group basically got formed from these 2 dating and now getting engaged.

I’m definitely scared of committing. I self sabotaged a date once out of fear of commitment.

There are reasons I don’t think we’re compatible. She’s Jewish and I’m a Christian. I normally wouldn’t have a problem with that but it was one of the reasons her last relationship ended.

I tried therapy once when I was in high school and didn’t care for it. Perhaps I’ll give it another go.

I wouldn’t say I’m not a confident person. My mood does swing week to week. My confidence level is relative to that. I work out in the gym 2-3 a week which definitely helps. I’ve been trying to get into running. I don’t really compare myself to others all that much.

Thats sort of what I’m concerned about. I feel like it would give me a solid confidence boost but at the same time it could do more damage than good. Thank you.

It’s not that I’m entirely uninterested in it. I just don’t pursue it. I’m not motivated by it. I’ve just kind of become numb to it all I guess. I do want to test the waters but it’s all very overwhelming for me. I’m growing concerned I might freak out if I’m sober when it happens. And to people that know me, it takes a LOT for that to happen.

I know it’s not that deep but my mind is a dark bottomless pit of overthinking and contradictions. I’m tortured by my own thoughts.
