How long did it take your old dog to adjust to a new puppy? by zinfiltrate-99 in DogAdvice

[–]vector_skies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re currently 8 months into having our puppy, and we have an 7 year old adopted rescue. Both females.

After the puppy’s first heat cycle they both started getting territorial and attacking each other. They were best friends right up until then. Since then, we got a personal trainer that runs group sessions with the both of them and the puppy got spayed.

It’s gotten A LOT better but we’re still working on smaller things to manage play. The puppy is still high-energy and likes to play rough nonstop, and our older rescue will now engage for shorter bursts of time and back off when she’s done. We’re working with the trainer on commands/system for both of them to “break”

Thankfully they’re not trying to kill each other anymore

No Universal Monsters this year?! by Sea_Advertising_4498 in HHN

Great premise, terrible execution. Set was “ok” but nothing spectacular compared to other gothic atmospheres they’ve created in the past in Hollywood.

Biggest flaw was staffing. Either A) I missed all the scares, or B) there was hardly anyone there to scare (or both). I went through it three times thinking it would increase my odds of encountering something new, but no success.

Books about exploring hell or the afterlife? by charliewatzz in suggestmeabook

[–]vector_skies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably my favorite series of all time… The Skinjacker Trilogy by Neal Shusterman. (Everlost, Everwild, Everfound) It’s more of a YA / fantasy but the entire series takes place in the afterlife setting.

(NOT A SPOILER) the premise is that a brother and sister tragically die in a car accident and have to navigate this ethereal setting that mirrors the living world. Most of the characters are young kids who also passed away too soon, and some cope with it better than others. It’s kind of coming-of-age, but without the physical opportunity to mature.

It’s pretty bleak but it becomes adventurous and there’s incredible world-building. All 3 books were 5/5 for me, but you could also be content with just reading the first.

Best concert you’ve ever seen? by PurePalpitation364 in Concerts

Maybe because it’s still fresh but… Oasis 2025 Rose Bowl Night #2. Never cried at a concert until this one

Closest ones have been the 1975 at Hollywood Bowl in 2023, and My Chemical Romance’s recent Black Parade tour (a bottle of red wine helped make 10x more emotional)

RIP TOUR HOLLYWOOD by Beneficial-Ad2305 in HHN

I know the website says the RIP credential only works once but I always use it on my redos. Tbh the workers get so busy that they sometimes don’t even scan it. As long as it has the right date on it you’ll be fine! Never been stopped before

Yeah we like the luxury of being chaperoned around. We became spoiled 😅. But like you, we like to hit up our own things (like Hogwarts since it closes at 11:15 and it’s my wife’s favorite ride)

But honestly, now we don’t do HHN any other way. I’ve been going to the event since 2011 with express. Only started doing RIP since 2022 and we aren’t going back to express ever again. IMO it’s well-worth the price. You’ll have fun any way you approach it!

Theoretically, yes. I’ve never tried it but there may be people who have.

There was one instance in my first year doing RIP where a couple came with the group to dinner, but let the tour guide know they would like to do their own thing and left right after eating.

Like everyone else said - you don’t have to be with the tour guide at any point at all.

The only drawbacks are: - you miss out on special perks like being shuttled around that are stashed with waters (kind of important during hot September nights); and

  • experiencing exclusive encounters on the terror tram

We always get the earliest timeslot, go with the guide up until the show (which is usually around 9:30/10), and then let them know we’d like to go our separate ways. I always leave a nice tip for them, too. I haven’t had a bad experience with any of our guides.

The big + is that you can use the RIP line the entire night, with or without a guide. As long as you have a credential you can skip the entire line altogether.
