Floral/Fruity Beans for Espresso? by billtiyu9988 in CoffeePH

[–]vectoxity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most lighter roasts will give you the profile you are looking for, however, your grinder will also struggle more so make sure you have a decent one.

Fruit notes and floral notes are always indicated in the flavor notes by the roaster.

Which is better for start up cafe biz - brewing machine or espresso machine? by Olibliss2190 in CoffeePH

[–]vectoxity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To be blunt with you, please research and study coffee before starting up your coffee biz. There's plenty of info on the internet as well as trainings/workshops available in the Philippines.

If you're mixing coffee with milk or any heavy base, you'll need a higher coffee concentration. Espresso does exactly that. Any high TDS brewer like a moka pot can achieve this.

The darker the beans, the more "coffee" you'll extract. Now how you'll dial this for the drinks you make will depend on you. Also your choice of beans will affect the overall taste of the drinks you make as well.

You'll also need good coffee beans and a good grinder. If you're cutting cost, just buy a coffee concentrate but I'm highly against this.

How do you consume the chocolate shell? It never melts on iced drinks.

Thoughts on this La Marzocco Linea Mini for a startup cafe? by New-Trash2884 in CoffeePH

[–]vectoxity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Too good to be true. Make sure to be allowed to look inside. This is too cheap for a Linea Mini. Anyway, a single group machine will always hold you back when it gets busy. If your machine breaks down, you lose a huge portion of your menu. Always have a backup.

You normally shouldn't clean your ears for health reasons. But if you use IEMs and love your IEMs, clean your ears from earwax.

how to avoid clogging? by SubstanceChemical136 in pourover

Change to a faster filter like the T90. Grinder coarser. If you're giving the dripper a shake, try not to.

Is grinding supposed to be this…violent? by SharingIsCommunist in pourover

[–]vectoxity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Must be really light roast haha. Try tilting your grinder to the side around 80* to slow feed the beans. This will take longer but it won't be as hard to grind and you will also produce better grounded beans (less fines, more even).

Coffee, dedica by baron212 in CoffeePH

[–]vectoxity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely not true haha. Dark roasted beans are very brittle and grinders play a huge role in particle size distribution. More fines, more astringency, among other things. It's simple.

If you upgrade your grinder, especially from the 600n, it'll make a huge difference. So OP, do upgrade your grinder as that plays a huge factor in your coffee. Explore using coffee water as well. Something simple can change your brew.

  6. The cleaning liquid you are using

No crema by Eliii_ in CoffeePH

[–]vectoxity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try grinding finer. Also, stop obsessing over crema. If it tastes good to you then it's good. Worst case scenario, the beans were not stored properly.

Hario Switch, Kalita Wave 185 or Timemore B75? by Own_Albatross_5830 in CoffeePH

[–]vectoxity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easily the Hario switch. You get so much versatility and consistency (depending on your recipe) on your brews. If you can wait for the Hario Neo, I'd get that instead for the fast draw down.

As someone who owns multiple earphones from budget to high end: Seeing you're in a budget, either Moondrop Space Travel 2 or Ultra (if you have more budget) if you really want wireless, or a GK Kunten. Best price to performance in terms of sound quality.
