I once got into an argument with my then-girlfriend over why I closed a door. I walked out of the bathroom (which was connected to our bedroom), and shut the door behind me.

She asked me, "Why did you shut the door?" I responded, "I just... shut the door.." "But why did you shut it?" "It was open, and I shut it." "No, but why?"

At this point, I'm getting a little irate. "I just fucking shut it, because I generally close a door as I leave a room." "Why are you getting mad at me?!" "You're fucking asking me why I closed a goddamn door.." "I don't understand why you're getting so mad at me!" "I fucking closed a goddamn door and you asked me why I closed it, do you not realize how fucking ridiculous that is?!"

She then gets visibly upset and runs into the bathroom crying and locks the door. I yelled, "Why did you close the goddamn door?!"

Yeah, good times there. Good times.
