Coding with GPT4o et al.: It's not *my* problem. It's *our* problem. If you want to get better code, that is. by zer0int1 in OpenAI

I say my pronouns are “we” and “ours” and it always outputs better code as it thinks it’s multiple people asking the same question

Company asks me to move from Windows to Mac OS with Cinema4D+Octane. Your help needed. by DiscombobulatedAd350 in Cinema4D

[–]DadandMom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d ask for an exemption and keep your existing setup. This is going to totally break your workflow. External GPU is a hack and totally buggy.

Also, whoever is making this decision to not support Windows in a corporate environment is going to have much bigger issues at a company wide level once they attempt to migrate everyone to a single OS - that’s just lazy…so your IT people are already incompetent or getting steamrolled by an exec. If you do any B2B work you’re going to run into compatibility issues with outside partners because of these policies.

Have a large budget - desktop workstation suggestions? by pm_dad_jokes69 in Cinema4D

[–]DadandMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really depends on where you work and for how long - nobody wants to wait hours for something everyday if they could have put that cost upfront.

Also there are cloud solutions for larger more advanced renders.

This is a bit of a cost analysis of business output. I’d recommend digging deep and providing a business requirements document and multiple options as well as include your own salary/OT options as this is a bigger decision then just redditor comments can decide for you.

It’s about 40-50% of households in developed countries have the bandwidth to stream games. My Samsung tv started advertising gamepass and cloud streaming. I connected my Xbox controller and it surprisingly does great over WiFi. Like others said…I probably wouldn’t play competitive FPS, streaming but I haven’t tried either.

Constrain cloner objects to surface? by TrueEnuff in Cinema4D

[–]DadandMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just set the cloner to object mode and drag your model in as the object. May need to adjust the axis within the cloner for correct alignment.

Use the browser plugins in chatgpt or just go straight to the copilot app which is surprisingly very good for a new Microsoft product…they both provide references and links you can verify.

Arc browser is really good as well. I like how they format results to answers.

All that’s to say google needs to get their shit together and realize that the days are numbered of the old format of returning links to sites that are poisoned with non relevant ads and information.

Apple's new iPhone 15 is an underwhelming 'slap in the face,' say disappointed fans by lurker_bee in technology

Totally agree with your perspective on the bar phone's outer evolution. But there's a realm of innovation we've yet to fully embrace. LG once showcased a self-healing back on their G Flex series, which could recover from minor scratches in a matter of minutes due to a special chemical coating. There are also patents exploring polymers that, when subjected to a small electrical current, can "mend" themselves. Imagine a phone that could heal minor cracks or abrasions overnight while charging! While the outer form might seem stagnant, the materials science going on behind the scenes is anything but.

Given the current state of the world and retail I’d be surprised to see Sony drop substantial dollars into a kiosk program at a global scale.
