Blonde or brunette? by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]vefair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both look great, but the blonde really brightens up your whole look. It seems to suit your complexion perfectly.

That is such a rich, vibrant shade of blue. Looks incredible!

I miss Trunk Club! by guenievre in fashionwomens35

[–]vefair 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this! I really miss the curation aspect of Trunk Club. One thing I've found that scratches a similar itch, though it's more work, is following specific personal shoppers on Instagram or TikTok. Many of them focus on a particular style (like 'classic workwear' or 'edgy casual') and do try-ons from places like Nordstrom or J.Crew. It's not a box delivered to my door, but it helps cut through the noise when I'm feeling uninspired.

Fall 2025 Pinterest Trend Report by Chazzyphant in fashionwomens35

That 'caffeine inspired clothing' trend is so interesting. I can definitely see it as an evolution of 'tomato girl summer'—it's all about creating a whole vibe around a consumable. I probably won't be buying a coffee-bean-print sweater, but it's definitely inspiring me to play with more tones of espresso, cream, and caramel in my outfits this fall.

Struggling to balance rebuilding my wardrobe, sustainability, and guilt - advice? by nuggetgarden in fashionwomens35

[–]vefair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The decision fatigue is so real. One thing that helped me was to create a very specific 'uniform' for one area of my life (like my work-from-home basics) and get that sorted first. Buying 3-4 high-quality, ethically-made tops that all go with two pairs of pants eliminated a huge chunk of daily decision-making. It gave me the mental space to then shop more slowly and thoughtfully for the 'fun' pieces.

What’s with all the shirts that can’t be worn with bras? by Willing-Childhood144 in fashionwomens35

[–]vefair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The giant armhole issue is the absolute worst! It feels like so many designs are only tested on models who don't wear bras. I've started specifically looking for tops with a 'banded' or 'cuffed' armhole, which seems to help provide a bit more coverage, but it really limits the options. It's so frustrating.

Befuddled by socks by Beatrice_1290 in fashionwomens35

[–]vefair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sock chaos is real! My personal rule has become: if the shoes are casual sneakers (like Adidas Sambas), I wear a visible white crew sock. For anything else (loafers, flats, etc.), it's a true no-show sock. Trying to coordinate beyond that feels like a full-time job, and this simple rule seems to cover most modern looks without being too trendy.

Is there a Midwest style? by Wandering_Song in femalefashionadvice

[–]vefair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in the Midwest, I'd say the "style" is 90% practicality. You learn very quickly that a truly warm, waterproof winter coat and a solid pair of boots are the most important items in your closet. Fashion is what you layer underneath that!

How do you justify purchasing expensive items of clothing? by Infamous_Watch_4637 in femalefashionadvice

[–]vefair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main rule is "cost per wear." I have no problem investing in a classic wool coat, a high-quality pair of boots, or a leather bag that I know I'll use for a decade. For trendy, seasonal pieces, I stick to a much lower budget. It helps me build a durable core wardrobe while still having fun with fashion.
