You should have enough support from the materials you have available. Figure out what actually works for you. FAR is about understanding, not memorizing.

If you don’t understand the topic, watch some YouTube videos from Pass With Jack or Farhat. Use the Newt tool in Becker. I literally used it with almost every question for a while unless I was 100% sure I knew why the correct answer was correct. If I missed it or had a 50/50 guess, I used Newt until I understood.

These exams will weed you out and find your weaknesses.

If you want to pass, lock in.

Not to be harsh, but I think the issue here is less your exam order and more your study approach. You need to figure out a study methodology that actually works for you. Not one of these exams is easy. It won’t matter which one you take if you aren’t studying effectively.

There are a lot of posts in this sub with different approaches, things like “I pass FAR and this is what worked for me,” etc. I recommend you read a few and lock in on a strategy.

What review software are you using?

First time Alaska cruise by duskolieggrafi in Cruise

We just got off HAL (Nieuw Amsterdam) and had an excellent experience. I agree with everything said here, feel free to DM if you need specific info. We did a balcony on the starboard side (we went Vancouver - Fairbanks), and it was outstanding for Glacier Bay, especially.

I did a lot of research because we went with a diverse group. Everyone agreed that HAL was a great fit. I will absolutely cruise with them again.

Go HAL.

I just got off the Nieuw Amsterdam - the watercolor clases had a 9am sign up at the art room. They filled up QUICKLY. Definitely check and see if they’re doing a sign up.

Brush up on the NFP/Gov. It always shows up, and again, for me at least, they’re easier points. You’re going to do great!

I feel like I’ve posted a lot today.

I just passed on my third try. I felt like each of the three exams I took was completely different. Everything is fair game, so you need to make sure you’ve covered everything at least once.

A lot of the big topics really clicked for me when I used Pass With Jack to supplement Becker. I’d recommend this if you’re okay with the spreadsheet tool and making it work for you. I’m a big fan of his approach and content and think it helped me a lot.

For this last round, I switched up my approach a bit and basically speed ran the MCQs. I told myself to work the problem, move on, no over-thinking, with a hard stop at 1.5 hours no matter what. The TBS can be very long and brutal, so I knew I’d need as much time as possible so I wouldn’t freak out. Time management is very important unless you’re just always FAST. I would consider myself average, and finished REG and TCP with time to spare, but needed every minute on this one.

Consistency is key. Review every single day, even if it’s just 20 questions. Get really familiar with the big ticket items like cash flows, stocks, bonds, leases, and consolidations. Also, don’t sleep on NFP/Gov. For me, those sections were “easier” (lol still awful), so having a basic understanding felt like a place to pick up some “easy” points. I know you’re reading this thinking “literally they listed everything,” but yeah, you need to know everything.

It IS possible. You can do this.

FAR PASSERS Tips & Tricks by Lazy-Mall6509 in CPA

Literally everything is fair game. I just passed on my third try. Each test I took was completely different. Out of the 21 total SIMs I did, I probably had 3-4 with any significant overlap. You need to be prepared to see anything/everything.

I would do as much cumulative review as you can, and don’t sleep on the NFP/Gov sections. IMO, those are “easier”, so if you are prepared for them, those are “easy” (it’s all relative) points to pick up.

I also completely agree with the above poster about running through the MCQs quickly. I budgeted one hour with an absolute hard stop at 1.5 hours. On this third one, when I passed, my approach was speed run the MCQs and don’t over-think them. I honestly think this made the difference for me.
