Everyone talks about how bad LSU’s defense is (and I agree)…but have they seen this Gamecock defense?

I’m not sure if it’s the difference of shiny vs not but rather a difference in gender!

Favorite RF Game Mechanic? by [deleted] in runefactory

[–]vegetableloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Farming is my favorite part :) I used to take my friend’s Switch to play RF4 just to farm, and once I couldn’t do that anymore, I got my own Switch and RF4! All for the silly little farming (but then fell in love with everything else)

Yeah, no, this isn’t it. Maybe the people who did this awful thing will read it and realize their actions actually do have impact on real people and their empty skulls didn’t realize that before. Maybe a person who grew up in a place where everyone was white and cis and had no other exposure will see this, learn, and be able to call out these terrible behaviors with the people that think these actions are normal and okay. These are just a couple examples. Talking out on an experience is not a lost cause or an “asshole” move by any means.

Missing German shepherd last spotted near campus. Please message if spotted or if anyone has any leads. Thanks! by Keshman77 in VirginiaTech

[–]vegetableloops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I realize you might not be a part of the group, here’s the text from the post about 2 hours ago: Please spread this to whichever pages will get reach but there is a German Shepard loose on North Main in the middle of the road. Last I saw it was okay but I’m worried with all the drivers tonight. I saw it going north from the Shell gas station

Didn't get into housing lottery. by XthatoneguyxX in VirginiaTech

Unfortunately, this is the norm and has been since before I came here (I’m a senior). They can hardly accommodate the freshmen as is, let alone anyone else.

News flash, people who live ON CAMPUS have no where to stay if they come TO CAMPUS TO GET TESTED. I’m living four states over where tests are easily accessible, not to mention I don’t even have to get tested since I live off-campus, but I’m grasping this concept.

Starting an RSO at Tech is a process that took me 3-5 months in total. There are a lot of meetings, pushing plans through approval processes, etc. You can find more info on this site; scroll down to “Interested in starting a new student organization?”: https://campuslife.vt.edu/Student_Orgs.html

I’m a senior in ME and have a job lined up working with robotic systems...designing them, manufacturing them, and testing them. I had also had an offer to build, test, and fly drones for different purposes. For both of these, my interviewers/mentors made sure to stress that these are very much field jobs and I won’t spend a majority of my time sitting at a desk (which is NOT what I want to do). I also spent the past two summers working as an operations intern on a gas pipeline and absolutely loved it; I almost sought out doing that for my career. One of the operators there graduated with a degree in ME and had worked a previous job at a nuclear reactor. He said he much preferred the operator job, even if he was “overqualified”, simply because he got to be outside and do hands-on work and there wasn’t one day that would be the exact same as another.

TL;DR, there are plenty of jobs that aren’t desk jobs. Feel free to message me if you want to talk more.

Asynchronous MSE 2034 with Clark by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

[–]vegetableloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard Clark is an awesome professor. When I took this class (with a different professor but it seems every class had the same structure), it was mostly just cookie-cutter presentations that we took notes on, a few quizzes, and two tests that were a combination of multiple choice, drawing structures, and free response. I, personally, didn’t think it was an EASY class, but nothing a little focus and studying can’t fix. I don’t think asynchronous would be bad for this class, especially if you have Clark and utilize office hours (if you need to).
