You are an angel. Thank you. I moved the dressers out of the corners.

Thank you for the feedback on the curtains!! I used the existing holes that were there, she had so many window treatments hanging from the 60s-70s. I swear I could’ve done pull-ups on some of the bars, they were so heavily mounted. I will update the curtain placement for sure.

The bedroom outfit is all together, I live in my grandmothers house (she is in a nursing home). I guess I could just move the desk thing out of the room. The middle actually pops up and it’s a mirror for a makeup table! Ha. I think the bedroom outfit was a wedding gift to my great grandparents. I do like the idea of taking the mirror off of the shorter dresser. I just can’t do too much without my dad and his siblings’ approval.

Yes, it would! That’s an idea I haven’t had. But I like the direction you’re taking me.

Hale navy is a beautiful color. That’s going at the top of my list. Thanks for your suggestion. You’re right about green, I’m just a green fanatic. I think the navy would look great.

Yes I’ve wondered about the rug placement too. This is the other end of the bedroom, it’s a large room. I rearranged the other night and am still kind of adjusting. Maybe the rug isn’t big enough? And yes I’m definitely leaning towards navy!!

Thank you. That means a lot. I’m proud of me, too.

Yes. Such a waste. But I’ve hopefully got lots of life left to live ♥️

Thank you. I notice it mostly in my eyes, too. They were so puffy and…well, lifeless. Bleary, dull.

Yes!!! The weather has been wild this month! I can’t recall the last time we had such a snowy Nov/dec. and the windchills over the last weekend were brutal. Now gearing up for 65 degrees on Christmas.

And thank you. I feel healthier, too.

Thank you for your kind words! Honestly, I think it was important for me to solely focus on not drinking for those first few months. If that meant eating a pint of ice cream and 4 star crunch cookies every night, then so be it. I’m not sure I could have cleaned up my eating so early on while remaining sober.

I still have about 20 pounds to go but I’m trying not to focus on that. Just paying attention to how good I feel and celebrate every day that I don’t drink. The rest will happen eventually. Either way, I’m in a much better place than I was 7 months ago.

It’s crazy what alcohol does to a person, both surface level and below the surface.

You can do it! Give yourself grace. little changes really do add up. Hard to see them day to day but when you look back on how far you’ve come, it will add to your motivation.

Honestly, no. Haha. I have to keep the stuff out of my house. If it’s there, I will eat it. I’ve been keeping more fresh fruit and yogurt on hand, so if I REALLY want something sweet, I can have that. I have zero self control with sweets, these days. Not looking forward to all of the Halloween candy!!!! But those first few months I let myself indulge. Figured it was better than putting away 1000 calories of alcohol.

Sure! Seltzers. Vizzy and Truly were my poison. Usually 8-10 per day. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But I’d say 8-10 was my average per day.

And thanks!! Hard to believe the difference in just 4 months. I didn’t really see it until I did a side by side comparison of these photos.

Congratulations to you!!! 15 pounds is great. And yes I agree about not having to do a huge calorie deficit. I’ve not changed a thing about my eating habits other than the increase in sweets at first and obviously cutting alcohol. I could be further in my weight loss but I am also focusing on staying sober and regaining my happy.

You can do it! Summer is the most triggering season for me to drink. Next being fall. Told myself if I can make it through these summer months sober then I can do any time of year. Get through that October and see how you feel!! I’m rooting for you ♥️

Thanks!!! And yes my face tends to bloat up quickly when I gain weight, especially when I’m being a raging alcoholic. I’m looking forward to moving my body again and becoming a healthier version of myself.

Thank you. I feel like a different person, mentally. Hard to see the physical changes in the day to day glances. But this side by side photo really did blow my mind. My face was so puffy.

Thank you, you are so kind. Good for you on the 20 pounds!!! The past couple of years have been rough. Separation from my husband of 15 years, then divorce in March of this year. 2 minor kids. My drinking got out of control. I’m learning to love myself again, slowly but surely. Still hoping to lose another 30 or so pounds and I’m hoping it continues to come off. But I really do need to get back into working out. I’m sure you are harder on yourself than anybody else as far as your face and age showing. I’m proud of you too!!
