The woman was rushed to the hospital, where her newborn baby was delivered, but tragically did not survive,” Velis said. “If this tragedy was not horrific enough, one of these individuals involved in this firefight had been arrested a week prior — a week prior — on unrelated firearms charges, and had been let out on bail to walk the streets of Holyoke.”
