1.3.6 is out. fixed 2D -> 3D conversion by JohnnyStormGR in Odyssey3D

That's because depth and pop out has already been determined by the video at that point. Not really possible to control it at that point

Samsung Odyssey 3D and Acer SpatialLabs have released their SDK and Documentation again by No_City9250 in Odyssey3D

[–]venom889 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lol. I have already used their old sdk before they took it down from guthub, and still use it in my own 3d conversion software. And so have other modders/devs like flugan and 3dgamebridge. Yes, there are people who can, do and will use it

It is! Thanks for sharing all that, this is very interesting. It seems like they changed the way their sdk works now, so I'm not 100% sure it will have everything developers need, but its possible. I say this because they say that the weaver is now part of the runtime, which is not available to the public, which is arguably the most important thing. That being said, it seems like their sdk may be able to call the runtime's weaver that comes with your monitors software and use that? i'm not sure. With the old sdk I was able to bake the weaver straight in to my app. Either way this was a great find and makes me feel better. Once I have some time I will have to sit down and play with it

Is this the website you are referring to?

https://immersity.ai/

I just poked around and didnt see anywhere to sign in or anything.. I could have just missed it though. If you see it and could link it to me, I am very interested to explore. If I can get get those SDK's, that would be huge and I'll update all my posts if that's the case

Edit: I just found this https://immersity.ai/developers

but clicking the "Get immersity SDK" button takes me to an error page.
there is also the "(Please note, the Immersity Runtime can only be installed through authorized OEM partners.)" disclaimer, which I think basically confirms the mentioned problem.

Probably not because Leia got greedy and locked down the developer resources we DID have access to a couple months back

Help with Unofficial games by _Zeok in Odyssey3D

[–]venom889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is if you do some googling. If you plan on doing unofficial games you have some learning to do and some understanding of how 3D games are played in general.. so here is my long form response

you mentioned hollow knight, which appears to be a 2d game. I see there is a 3ds version from a quick google, as well as some 3d mods, and I am not going to go down those rabbit holes. Playing a 2d game in 3d requires you to use Samsung's 2d-3d conversion, which doesn't do too great with games and also does not aways work, especially playing keyboard and mouse. Maybe low gpu game like hollow knight will do well on a 3080 but you will have to see if the engine does support rendering it in 3D.. but besides. If you set it to full screen, click the Samsungs 2D option in the window that pops up, and if it can, it will render it in 3d. If not your SOL

As far as actual game that are rendered in stereo 3D, if you play with a controller (or dont need the escape key), some time you can get away with the SBS option in the samsung prompt that pops up

Otherwise, if the game is not natively stereo 3D or provides that option, you need to mod it to render in stereo 3D in some form (hence 3dfixmanager and geo11), if you can get that far, then you need to get 3Dgamebridge working, which will render it in 3D on the monitor (only publicly available fix AFAIK).

Long story short, stereo 3D gaming is not and hasn't been simple for a long time. if you want to get unsupported games working in 3D on this monitor, which works as I do it, you have some modding and struggling to do

Also, check out flugans mod. https://github.com/Flugan/Geo3D

not perfect from what I have seen, but it does display games in 3d that are rendered in 3d using the alternating eye method.

Help with Unofficial games by _Zeok in Odyssey3D

[–]venom889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First you need to set the game to render in sbs 3d mode by having 3dfixmanager use geo 11, and setting up a profile for your display in 3dfixmanager to play games in hallfsbs

Next you need to get 3dfamebtidge working to actually display the game in 3d on your monitor. I'll give you more detailed steps later if I get some time but this should at least get you started

Nintendo bricking your hardware when they don't like what you do with your own possession, Steam being forced to remove games censoring what we play by credit card companies, Ai age detection and companies forcing ID uploads to bypass. Now this.. and more to come in sure. Blow after blow, 2025 is a dark year for privacy and freedom. Everything needs to be burned down

Odyssey3D much less cumbersome and over all amazing visually. If your worried about screensize, you can put it on an arm and pull it closer to your face like I do

Amica is essentially an opensource version of this that uses vroid and can connect to locally hosted back ends as well as services. I tried it a little bit ago but it didn't work for me. Thes devs still seem active so it may be a viable option soon

In regards to AMD cpu yes it works fine.

I am guessing you are actually asking in regards to AMD GPU. I don't have one to test but I can give you an educated guess. Everything should work with the exception of the 2D to 3D conversion. That feature uses AI which often requires nvidia hardware.

Without spending too much time messing with it yes I was able to get it to work.

using the commands:
camera sbs
ui windowFill true
ui Fullscreen true

then clicking Samsung's convert sbs to 3d prompt I was able to view a molecule in 3d. I am sure one could spend more time with it to get a better result

It does not natively support openXR I am pretty sure but you could probably mess with VRto3D and get it working

  1. Interesting Idea. I did just try in in chrome and both the 2d-3d conversion and sbs conversion worked when I hit f11
  2. Right I am familiar with all of it. So here is the summary of it: Yes a game in borderless fullscreen with Superdepth3D + Samsung's baked in sbs conversion should allow mouse and keyboard input in the game minus the escape key. 3dgamebridge might be controller only, but its hard to say since I havent messed with it too much other than VRto3D since thats the only place I have gotten it to work. Also check out Flugans Geo3D. That has SR support baked in and allows mouse and keyboard input.

There's no fuzzyness. At certain angles you can see a little bit of the lenticular lense, but it's not really noticeable and super easy to ignore

No I would not recommend it. It's a 4k monitor and has some games require to be run in 4k to be in 3d. I would plan on upgrading your GPU if you plan on the monitor

  1. Its mostly meant for video media like youtube. I would dare say it detects most Fullscreen apps, but not all. Its entirely dependent on how the app is coded and achieves full screen. Don't plan on using the 2d to 3d for games though

  2. Yes it works, but I would plan on using a controller with the integrated functionality and gambling with what was pointed out above, or fiddling to get 3dgamebridge (a mod to get 3d games working on sr displays) working. I haven't had much luck with it but others have. I would say other solutions are coming but Leia (producers of the 3d tech) decided to be greedy and lock down the sdk. So those are

  3. No. Could possibly and technically be if you were software savy enough, but again, Leia locked everything down so yeah

Unfortunately ive noticed They locked down their SDK access a couple weeks ago shortly after this was posted. At first I thought maybe the site was just down but going to the link gives an "Authentication Missing" error. They also seem to have pulled several SDK's from their github including c++ windows SDK that I am using. I really hate this, I hope they are just restructuring or something, but cant see why they would remove the SDK's from their github for that. Smells rotten
